ISU PRESENTATION

OUTLINE

• Presentation- The final element is a five minute presentation which must include:

a)Brief plot summary of your novel. Include the main characters, setting, conflict, etc.b)Discussion of your journal responsesc)Presenting of your creative item d)Please avoid simply summarizing your novel!

KEY IDEAS

• Determine the most important elements of your novel• What did you learn from you novel?• What is significant about your novel?• What lessons did you learn?• Make your presentation interactive

PRESENTATION TIPS

• How do you engage the audience of your presentation?• Visuals• Points on the board• Ask you audience questions• Have audience ask you questions• Quiz them on your novel

HOW TO PRESENT YOURSELF

• Make eye contact• Body language should show interest in

presentation• Be professional• Be prepared• Project your voice• Speak at an appropriate pace• Appear confident and knowledgeable

HOW TO PREPARE

• Review your journals and rough notes (print off copy of journals)• Make a presentation outline• Make cue cards• Practice your presentation• Relax! Everyone gets nervous, but the class will

be respectful and supportive.
