Highlights in the Q3 2016 release include:

• New user experience across multiple pages

• New country versions of the SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central solution (for Oman and Morocco), a total of 79

• New country versions of the SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central Payroll solution (for Poland and the Philippines), a total of 38

• Ability to add external candidates as successors in the succession organization chart

• New extension center tool, powered by the metadata framework, which allows customers and partners to build, manage, and edit solution extensions through a Web-guided user interface

USER EXPERIENCEA key commitment of SAP is to deliver a compelling user experience across the SAP SuccessFactors HCM Suite, purpose-built for desktop, mobile, and tablets. Throughout the past few releases, using the design language of the SAP Fiori® user experience (UX), we have been updating the interfaces of multiple pages throughout the suite to maximize consistency, learnability, usability, and aesthetic perspective.

During the first half of 2016, we updated more than 80 pages across the SAP SuccessFactors HCM Suite, including the following areas:

• Benefits summary (Q1 2016) • New home page (Q1 2016) • Intelligent insights (formerly embedded analytics) (Q2 2016)

• Off-cycle rewards (Q2 2016)

Cross-Suite

For Q3 2016, we are excited to announce an additional set of user interface updates and new capabilities. You can enjoy updated user interfaces across an additional 100+ pages throughout the suite, including these areas:

• Career worksheet • Performance management forms • Goals plan page • Performance management team overview • Compensation executive review • Recruiting talent pipeline • New-hire activity for hiring managers

The new home page can now be enabled in the upgrade center, and you can benefit from role-based, time-sensitive information and insights on a single personalized start page. In addition, the new home page supports theming, enabling you to configure colors and backgrounds.

MOBILEOur native mobile apps for iPhone, iPad, and Android devices have received several updates to enhance the user experience. Finding people in the organization has never been easier. The new mobile search capability anticipates your users’ needs and delivers personalized results by remembering frequently searched people.

The new organization chart provides a high-level sense of the organization in one screen, under-standing of relationships in one glance, and access to three layers of organizational structure for each screen. The new organization chart dynamically adapts to screen orientation and supports natural gestures with swiping animations and 3D Touch capability (iOS) to access profiles of each person in the organization chart.

INTELLIGENT SERVICESWe’re excited to introduce the next wave of intelligent services events extending across the SAP SuccessFactors HCM Suite, increasing the total number of events to 40. Intelligent services events help reduce the administrative burden of managing information updates across multiple systems.

For example, a new intelligent service event is available to handle the probation process for employees, helping to ensure transparency and compliance.

Additional intelligent services events introduced in this release include:

• Onboarding step completed • Offboarding step completed • Creation of activity in continuous performance management

• Creation of achievement in continuous perfor-mance management

• Start probation

PRESENTATIONSWe’ve added new capabilities to presentations. The new analytics live slide feature enables presenters to add individual dashboard tiles to presentations to include personalized and context-sensitive data. The live slide feature can include any available tile, even custom-built ones. Your users can click on the tile and expand the charts for additional information or apply filters to the data.

SAP SUCCESSFACTORS EMPLOYEE CENTRALWe have added several new features and have made numerous enhancements in this quarterly release, including the following:

• Ability to configure the matrix synchronization globally in position management

• Filter and analyze data replication options to and from the SAP ERP Human Capital Management (SAP ERP HCM) solution and SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central, including exclusion or inclusion of data for contingent workers

With our commitment to provide localized capabilities for our customers in each of the geographies in which they operate, this release contains multiple new localization enhancements for Brazil, France, Germany, Japan, Poland, Portugal, and South Africa country versions. We have also added new country versions for Oman and Morocco, a total of 79 country versions for SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central.

SAP SUCCESSFACTORS EMPLOYEE CENTRAL PAYROLLIn the Q3 2016 release, we have added two new country versions for Poland and the Philippines, increasing the total number of country versions to 38.

We have also enhanced the data replications between SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central and SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central Payroll for the following:

• Brazil – Replication of dependents, contractual elements, and date of naturalization to support eSocial

• France – Replication of start and end dates for spot bonus to support legal reporting

GLOBAL BENEFITS We continue to innovate global benefits in the Q3 2016 release. Innovations include support for U.S. open enrollment, adding attributes (for example, gender, age, and smoking status) to improve premium calculations for insurances, and easier configuration of savings plans such as health savings accounts (HSA) and flexible spending accounts (FSA).

We continue to introduce simplifying processes through automation in each release. In this Q3 2016 release, we give you the option to configure the instant recalculation of an employee’s time data changes either online or through data import. With this enhancement, your users gain the latest information immediately rather than having to wait for a scheduled recalculation job run.

In addition, we added more functionality in the Time Accounts tab – the ability for employees to retrieve accrual or entitlement balances as well as filter options and download the data to a local file.

In the Q2 2016 release, we launched the time administrator workbench as a central user interface for time administrators to analyze and adapt each employee’s time data. In this release, a new tab labeled Time Alerts lists time management-related errors pertaining to a single employee. The solution checks for errors that have occurred based on issues such as negative time recording, imports from external time records, and time management recalculations. Your users can simply review the list of errors, correct them, and rerun the job, all within the time administrator workbench.

Talent Management

PERFORMANCE AND GOALS We’re continuing to expand continuous perfor-mance management capabilities. Employees can now request immediate feedback from peers within the organization on their achievements. Managers can gain better insight into employees’ strengths and development areas, and use the feedback to provide ongoing feedback and coaching. We’ve also enhanced continuous per-formance management on the SAP SuccessFactors Mobile app – making it easier and more intuitive for both employees and managers to use.

We’re also excited to announce a new initiatives feature, which you can use to align organizational values, charters, and missions more efficiently. Users associate goals to one or more initiatives in the organization, which helps ensure full alignment.

LEARNINGAs we strive to help you make learning more continuous, we’re proud to introduce the collections feature, which makes it easier for employees to share great content. Learners, managers, and administrators can create a list of their favorite content links from any-where – public Web-site articles, direct links to courses, spaces on the SAP Jam™ social software platform, and other resources. You can also manage, share, and track lists and links.

In addition, you can now send invitations from your Microsoft Outlook calendar for courses. Plus, the recently announced instructor role now includes visibility into learner profiles and documents, as well as the ability to print class rosters.

SUCCESSION AND DEVELOPMENTWe’re pleased to announce that you can now add external candidates from the SAP SuccessFactors Recruiting solution as successors in the succession organization chart for a more comprehensive view and approach to succession management. You can apply more flexible permissions for succession management. For example, you can differentiate permissions for talent pools between users who have permission to create a pool and managers who may only have permission to nominate talent to a pool.

COMPENSATIONWe’re expanding our recently announced monetary spot awards feature. In this release, managers and employees can nominate people for spot awards with expanded program eligibility and requirements guidelines. In addition, we’ve improved the spot awards layout, design, and experience for managers and employees. They can use both a new search window to conduct company-wide searches efficiently to find and nominate eligible employees and a new side panel that shows the employees selected for an award.

RECRUITINGWe’re happy to give you more control, flexibility, and speed in your hiring activities. With this release, you can now take advantage of self-service template management. This means you can directly and easily create, edit, delete, and manage requisition, application, candidate profile, and offer detail templates – with no additional services or template setup help.

Human Capital Analytics

WORKFORCE ANALYTICS Following our recent introduction of the investigate feature, in this release we’ve made it easier for analysts and HR business partners to analyze workforce issues and answer questions in less time. In addition to simpler filtering, drill downs, and comparisons, your team can now easily e-mail and share analysis, and gain insight from forecasting and projections, instead of just looking back at historical trends.

INTEGRATIONSVarious enhancements to the integration center feature and application programming interfaces (APIs) simplify the creation of customer-specific integrations and extend your options. For example, you can now create middleware mapping content in the integration center and use filter criteria to shrink the selection of employee groups for further processing. You also now have more choices and improved usability for data imports.

We’ve improved the existing integration between SAP ERP and SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central with predefined templates and sample mapping content, enabling faster time to imple-mentation and simpler operations. You can use the replication request monitor feature to examine the flow of employee and organizational data and to resolve errors quickly.

For the SAP SuccessFactors Recruiting Management solution, a standard template is now available to allow for fast and simple integration with any third-party assessment vendor.

DOCUMENT MANAGEMENTA new document management feature helps you better manage your documents in SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central, SAP SuccessFactors Recruiting, and SAP SuccessFactors Performance & Goals solutions. This document management solution integrates with enterprise cloud storage vendor Box (integration with other enterprise cloud storage solutions are under evaluation). Your users can upload, search, and download documents that are relevant to your SAP SuccessFactors solutions.

EXTENSION CENTERExtension center is a new tool that allows customers and partners to build, manage, and edit your extensions through a Web-guided user interface. The extension center – powered by the metadata framework – enables you to create new extensions without the need to code.

AUTOMATED MEMBER LISTS ENABLE MIXED REQUIRED AND OPTIONAL GROUP MEMBERSHIP Autogroups are a popular and important mechanism in automatic group membership in the SAP Jam social software platform, and our customers have asked for abilities beyond those our current autogroup mechanism can accom-modate. To meet this request, we have created a new capability far more powerful that will ultimately replace autogroups. The new dynamic member lists capability brings significantly faster searching and viewing of group and list membership, offering the ability to mix the membership of a group between required and optional people.

SAP JAM EXTENDS ADMINISTRATIVE CAPABILITIES WITH ROLE-BASED ALIAS USERSLarger organizations, including SAP, use SAP Jam as a mechanism for support. To enable SAP Jam to work in the way these organizations handle employee interaction processes and policies, we

have added a new capability many of our customers have asked for. The alias users capability allows employees to “alias to” another user – effectively becoming the alias user. When employee John Smith, for example, “aliases to” the HR help-desk user, he stops being John Smith, and his user activities while in the alias user mode become independent of his real identity.

SAP JAM EXTENDS BRANDING AND CUSTOMIZATION LOOK AND FEEL CAPABILITIESBranding and the ability to customize the look and feel of SAP Jam has been a favorite capability of our customers. In this release, we have extended abilities to customize the color and font for the vast majority of interface elements. You can now control the background color of the window on SAP Jam, the colors of title bars for overview widgets, and more than 20 other elements to personalize your SAP Jam space to match your company branding.
