Using WSI’s proprietary RPM model to predict the course and severity of storms, Max Storm always gives you the best 24-hour severe weather forecast in your market. Once a storm hits, RPM gives you the best ongoing analysis of where the threat is heading next. WSI is the only commercial vendor that continually assimilates streaming nationwide radar data to constantly update the variables in the RPM model. This provides unprecedented short-term precipitation forecast quality, particularly in the area of life-saving convective forecasts.

3D Volumetric Radar automatically creates and dissects a three-dimensional volume of up to five NWS NEXRAD Level II Dual Polarity radar sites. Use the Storm Slicer tool to dissect strong storms to locate hail cores and unveil where the most dangerous areas of the storm are located.

Data Scope allows you to interactively peer into storms and display additional relevant information for the viewers on a storm-by-storm basis. You can also use this powerful tool with your own local radar to pinpoint potential areas of rotation.

MagicTRAK Interactivity is part of Max Studio and available as an option to Max Storm. This popular feature keeps your talent on-screen when it matters most, and with Scene Launch capabilities you can easily show compelling viewer submitted video by clicking on the map. All the tools your meteorologist needs are available at the key wall or on a touchscreen, without the need to pre-script moves and functions.

WSI Dual-Polarity Radar Products are the most advanced in the industry. Our proprietary Tornado Debris Signature (TDS) uses sophisticated algorithms to detect lofted debris to determine tornado touchdowns, especially at night when they are invisible to the naked eye. Hail Detection pinpoints the location and frequency of damaging hail and HD Instantaneous Precipitation Rate shows where heavy and potentially flooding rain is occurring.

EEC Radars are the most sophisticated, reliable and cost effective radars on the market. WSI is the exclusive reseller for the Defender and Ranger dual-pol radar product lines. The combination of EEC’s patented technology and Storm’s incredible visualization tools guarantees you will have the most accurate and compelling severe weather tracking tool sponsors look for.

Mosaicing and Nearest Site Capability Covering severe weather over a large area just got easier with these two recently added features. Max Storm will automatically mosaic the list of sites you have selected. If you prefer to show just one site, you can use the nearest site option and let Max turn on the radar site closest to center of the screen.

Early Warning Storm Detection (EWSD) Signatures Use these markers to quickly identify the severity and type of storm approaching. This now includes a Tornado Debris Signature (TDS). Using a proprietary algorithm, this signature identifies debris lofted by a tornado and provides the best indication that a tornado is on the ground.

Local Storm Reports See what damage has happened in the path of severe weather. Max Storm has the ability to display over forty-five types of storm reports issued by the local National Weather Service.

Sweeping Radar Get unlimited access to all National Weather Service and Environment Canada Doppler weather radars. This includes Correlation Coefficient moment from the Dual-Polarity NWS radars. In addition, we offer access to the Terminal Doppler Weather Radars (TDWR) across the US. WSI also has the ability to integrate a variety of local, station-owned radars, giving you the complete range of coverage when severe weather breaks.

Hail and Shear Tracks Track where the most dangerous storms have been with the high-resolution hail track and shear track data. This data is updated every five minutes and provides a look at how large the hail has been. Use the shear tracks to correlate the potential for ongoing super cell/tornadic events to persist or fall apart.

Live Control On-Air Query Create a custom query tool to interactively query any watch/warning, local storm report or storm track giving the viewers at home information that you think would matter most to them such as an ETA on a particularly dangerous storm.
