Haritha Jyothi- Plantation Drive Venue: Sides of Vazhakode Shornur Highway

In connection with the Haritha Jyothi initiative, saplings were planted on the highway sides. It

was inaugurated by the Principal. Cages were prepared and installed to protect the plants. The

effort was appreciated by the public. An initiative was also taken to distribute more than 300

saplings to the students and staff members.

Minimize Plastic Waste -Awareness Campaign

Plastic waste is considered as the most hazardous among the total solid waste generated worldwide.

Reducing plastic consumption and awareness about plastic recycling is crucial if we are to overcome the

problem of plastic waste. NSS unit 140 of Jyothi Engineering College conducted an awareness program

with the theme "Minimize Plastic wastes for a better tomorrow". The volunteers visited households in

Cheruthuruthy and Panjal and made people know the dangerous side of plastic wastes.
