    With regard to the examination to be given by thel^ommittee ibr the preliminary examination of the medical

    practitioner's state exarninatien (hereinafter simply calledthe medical practitioner's examination) and examinationto be given by the committee for the preliminary examina-tion of the dentist's state examination (hereinafter simplycalled the dentist's examination) under the provisions ofArticle 2 of the Ordinance pertaining to Exceptions tothe Enforcement Ordinance of the former National MedicalTreatment Law (Imperial Ordinance No. 42 of 1946), asbased on the provisions [respectively of paragraph 3 ofArticle 36 of the Medical Practitioners Law and Paragraph3 of Article 33 of the Dentists Law, methods, etc. ofthese examinations shall be fixed as follows :

    3. Methods of examination(a) The oral examination or the examination in

    practice shall be given only to persons who havepassed the examination in writing.

    (b) For persons who hold licences which are notlimited in validity by specific areas or by term,examination in writing only shall be given in theinedical practitioner's examination, and the examina-tion in practice only shall be given in the dentist'sexamination. However, the oral examination maybe given in addition.

    (c) Both of the oral examination in the medicalpractitioner's examination and the examination inpractice in the dentist's examination shall be com-pleted within a day, and examination schedule foreach examinee shall directly be instructed to theexaminees.

    4. The written application shall be filed with the StateExamination Unit of either Medical Affairs Section orDental Hygiene Section of Medical Affairs Bureau,Ministry of Welfare within the period from the day ofannouncement on the Official Gazette to May 31, 1949.

    5. Application from is referred to the provisions of theMinistry of "Welfare Ordinance No. 6 of 1949.

    6. An examination^ fee (450yen) shall be paid with arevenue stamp which shall, witfiout fail, be affixed tothe written application.

    7. With regard to the medical practitioner's examinationor the 'dentist's examination, the place where anyapplicant desire to take the examination in writing andnumber of the examinations which he has taken shall,without fail, be described on the application. However,after submitting the application, any change of theplace for the examination shall not be approved.

    8. The Japanese phonetic shall be attached to the presentaddress and the name of the applicant described on theapplication.

    9. The examination cards shall be handed out on June 6(from 9 a.m. to 5 p,m.) at either Medical AffairsSection or Dental Hygiene Section of Medical AffairsBureau, Ministry of Welfare to the applicants whodesire to take the examination in Tokyo, and at

    Hokkaido Branch Office of the Medical Affairs Bureau,Ministry of Welfare, at Nishi 5-chome, Kita ll-jo,Sapporo-shi to the applicants who desire to take theexamination in Sapporo, and at Kyushu Branch Officeof the Medical Affairs Bureau, Ministry of Welfare, atDaimyo-cho, Fukuoka-shi to the applicants who desireto take the examination in Fukuoka respectively.Therefore, the applicants shall, without fail, report atthe said places to receive the said cards and confirinthe place of examination, etc.

    10. Those who passed the examination shall directly benotified on each occasion.
