About PYROBLAST-C® technology
PYROBLAST-C is the next generation system for rock and concrete fragmentation to be used in
zones where the use of construction machinery or explosives is not possible and/or is really
impractical, such as populated areas, near housing and roads, where dense vehicular traffic
exists, as well as in zones without geological stability where tunnel or slope construction is
required.
PYROBLAST-C® technology is patented and obtained a National Acknowledgment from
CONACYT (Consejo Nacional de Ciencia y Tecnología), because its innovative new mining
extractive method. Currently PYROBLAST-C® technology is been used in Panama, Chile, Brazil
and Mexico.

How does PYROBLAST-C® technology is composed?
PYROBLAST-C® technology is it composed by:
eFUSE system for electronic sequential activation with programmable variable delays, which
allows better vibration control, higher operative performance, and circuits verification to ensure
the effective activation of bores, loads computes, an unlimited quantity of possible delays, all
this keeping high operative security levels.
PYROBLAST-C® fragmentation device. Fragmentation elements made from high security
pyrotechnical propellants. The devices are designed in different energy quantity and
dimensions, so they can have a wider range of applications. The fragmentation device can be
used in any environment, in horizontal and vertical bores, as well as in jobs where the
fragmentation has to be made upward.
Engineering. Technical support to do calculations for obtaining loads, drilling patterns, delays
and periods for minimizing vibration, through the blastcalculator software or by any other
communication media directly with our engineering team.
How does it work?
This new fragmentation technology with lower VOD than conventional explosives, only operates
on tension instead both tension and compression, such feature makes this high technology an
excellent option to be used in slope stabilization, as well as in unstable areas in underground
mining.
For both rock and concrete fragmentation, specific drilling it is necessary. Once this has beendone, the fragmentation device it is inserted in the bottom of the bore, and after that it is sealed,
so the energy can be used completely. The drilling pattern is based on calculus, made for
specialized engineers, and on the job conditions; including the rock type, environment and final
fragmentation size, in order to have high fragmentation control.
Subsequently, all the electrical connections are done, and through the eFUSE system, the
fragmentation devices are safely activated.

PYROBLAST-C® is very useful in zones with high sensitivity to vibration, machinery, equipment,
electric and hydraulic infrastructure areas. The system is pretty reliable for works on geologically
no stable areas, even where we have ambient restrictions.
Where the system can be used?
The PYROBLAST-C® technology has been specially designed to be used in sensible zones,

It is an integral electronic sequential ignition system that is able to work according to
programmable delay periods of high reliability.

The system does not allow or stops the activation when:
-Short-circuit is detected
-Any of the circuits to be activated has been opened up by the activation of an extern and
accidental action (such as the movement of rock). For demolition mode this does not apply.

eFUSE is the most advanced technology for electronic ignition. It is a highly accurate, secure
and reliable system; there is not another system like this on its field. The way eFUSE works is
unique in the market and at the same time it is economically competitive. This system has been
designed to achieve the best performance in rock and concrete fragmentation works. The
electronic ignition system has an accuracy of ±16.125µs in the delays, which are not
accumulative. For example, if an 8ms delay is programmed, the resultant delay would be of
8mS ± 16.125µs; if an 3600s is programmed, the resultant delay would be of 3600s ± 16.125µs.
This unique high technology ignition system, allows evacuating the activation zones with safety,
because of its exact and accurate timing. Which can be programmed according the conditions
of the work is been done.
Although each channel is able to ignite a load of 110 Ohms (approximately 44 elements), the
system itself, allows to ignite an infinite number of elements. Its control system allows achieving
delay periods with a resolution of 1ms, however it is possible to programming delay equals to
0ms, which means simultaneous activation of two or more channels.
eFUSE integrates the highest quality standards, going beyond the mining and construction
industry requirements; its security elements are wonderfully practical and functional, since they
verify that eFUSE to be in appropriate work conditions (circuits, products, not over loaded,
permission for activating), in an impressive reliable way. In other words, eFUSE is able to
automatically check that the number of elements to activate to be adequate for having a secureactivation, verify that the connections are correctly made and that the system is now ready to
work.
Besides it is unique on its type, its firmware is updatable, which allows it being always at the
forefront, at the same time it is easy to use and has a high 128 bit security encryption system
that eliminates completely the possibility of using eFUSE without the correspondent
authorization.
