He came from Quetta. Facial features, lingo and designs of apparels that he worevouched that his personality was the lovely amalgamation of Baluch and Persiancivilizations. There was an air of sophistication in his trait and attributes. He wasserious in studies, but equally staid in the student politics of Dow. Such people aremostly found sitting in canteen.

Exactly this was true for Wahid who was seen either squatting in students canteen or inthe famous Doctors Café Teria of the Civil Hospital. He chatted with friends, acquaintances and foe for lengthy hours. Exchange of dialogue always held in a peacefultone and ambiance. There was never any symbol of violence and intolerance. A verycaptivating and convivial smile could be seen on Wahid’s face all the time.

He is a visionary with very objective and realistic approach to life. I accidentally met him at a meeting in Dubliin in 1992 and eversnce has been in close contact with him. I had the honour of working very closely with him and enormously indebted to him for numerous favours. He is a highly dependable and extremely generous friend. He is blessed with a very nice family and I am honoured to know all of them very closely. It is indeed a great privilege to know Wahid as class mate, close friend and real brother. May God bless him and the family.Shamim

Wahid, well-groomed(not like Italian gig, more like James Bond), cultured and sophisticated (like Farsi poetry), absorbing rather then exuding, sincere and friend for all weathers (yarokayar), a family man ( quote from Wahid 'wife and children are for ever, every thing else is disposable'), a very fortunate father to very bright and successful three children) and the only man he can say 'count my fingers' to NHS consultancy and has courage and determination to make a great success in another country. I have known Wahid since college days as a student and then my buddy on medical 2 house job. We have had a long association and unsuspecting soul was with me on Friday this week in London! Wahid matty, I honestly did not know about you being silva this week. Of all the great friends I made at Dow, you will always be cherished. Wish you and your family all the success, happiness and peace Munir

This was/is/will always be a good exchange of ideas when one engages in discussion with Wahid. He ranks high amongst the well read and enlightened class fellows. It would be good to see him in Antalya and Istanbul. Arshad

Thanks Shoaib. I learn so much about my friends through this great service that you are providing.

Wahid along with few other wonderful people from Baluchistan and Sindh were our batch mates. We also lived in Hostel 2 which offered us some unique quality time together. One day a guest of his came to the hostel asking where does Wahid live? Someone asked him which Wahid are you looking for and got the reply, ''woh Wahid joengraiziboltahai''. He had a unique cool demeanor. We had some interesting new year eve parties with him. He was fond of saying, "Aaopalkonpechidhianbithateyhein". Those were good times. Wahid and IB was a fun duo who had a lot of stories to share. Wahid, congratulations on all your achievements. Are you joining us in Turkey?Bashir

Shoaib: Many thanks once again. Wahid: Congratulations on being the Personality of the Week. We haven't heard from you on this forum for a while. Do write and give a version of events in your own words. While you are at it do bring Muhammad along as well. Take care and have a good week. Hasan
