Jane came to Dow from St.Joseph’s Convent. She was welcomed by a bunch of like-minded personalities which included Saad Salman, Kosar Qureshi, Javed Yousuf,Shoaib Sobani, Ali Muls, Najam Feroz, Carol D’Costa, Zubaida Farman Ali, Swaraj andthe talented Salma Qureshi.

They formed a very perceptible group where friendship and camaraderie was themost superlative ground of existence. Jane was a culinary expert. Be it thetraditional recipes or Chinese food, the group was invited to her Saddar residencefor sumptuous feasts. Saad Salman’s dwelling in air force base Masroor was afavorite party rendezvous for the group to sing, swim, ramble and all sorts of funand cavorts.

Dining in Hongkong, Kowloon and Yuan Tung was a regular affair as this chain ofChinese food outlets were related to Jane. Jane was a source of another pricelessservice to the group mates. Her father and elder brother Peter were instantlyavailable for any dental emergency. Both were dental surgeons. The partytimes in Dow ended one day with graduation and partings in different directions.

Jane did her house jobs in Medicine and Surgery and proceeded to the States with agood ECFMG score. She was not aware of the various challenges that lay ahead forher without a US residency. She quickly learnt that passing the VQE visa qualifyingexam was mandatory. With some intense studying she achieved the milestone.

In 1982 she joined the residency in Psychiatry in Syracuse, New York. Later she dida super-specialization in Geriatric Psychiatry. Suny State University of New Yorkoffered her the position of Assistant Professor in Psychiatry which she gladlyaccepted. Besides the mainstream academics Jane delved in Holistic Medicine,Acupuncture and Anti-aging medicine. She was in the first program to get boardcertification in Holistic Medicine.

Jane is married to Mark, a Dental surgeon. They have two children. Krystle is aprospective candidate for a physician assistant study and Wayne is nearingcompletion of his business degree. It has been thirty years now that she continuesto live in Syracuse. The main reason was logistic facility as the family lived inToronto. Jane works for many pharmaceutical companies to support an ethicalmarketing. She is endowed with stupendous oratory skills.

A look at the Jane today would surprise everybody. She is stunningly fit and agile.She has taken full advantage of knowledge about anti- aging medicines. Jane hasbeen a very regular visitor to seventy- nine’s gatherings to share with friends thenostalgic links of old memories.
