1950年、静岡県浜松市に｢遠州軽合金株式会社｣として創業。戦前の航空機部品製造におけるアルミ鋳造技術をコアとし、本田宗一郎氏との縁でオートバイエンジン部品の製造や、エンジン部品の製造に着手。In 1950, ENKEI was established in Hamamatsu City of Shizuoka Pref. as "En-Shuu Kei-go-kin (light alloy) Co., Ltd''.Applying aluminum casting technology for aircraft parts since the 2nd World War, started motorcycle engine parts and engine parts production by a relationship with Mr. Soichiro Honda.

1991年、ダービル式鋳造システムMAPを開発。アルミ合金の機械的性質（引張強度、耐力、伸び）を大幅に向上させる事に成功し、アルミホイールの性能が飛躍的に高まった。

2001年、フローフォーミングリム成型法MATを開発。鍛造ホイールの製造にも用いられる「スピニング製法」を応用した独自のリム成形法で、アルミホイールの更なる高強度化と軽量化が可能となった。

In 1991, ENKEI developed Durville die casting system, "MAP".Succeeded improving the mechanical properties such as tensile strength, yield strength, and elongation of Aluminum alloy.

In 2001, ENKEI developed Flow-forming rim molding technology, "MAT". This technology was applied from forged alloy wheel spinning process, can dramatically improve strength and weight reduction.

1967年、自動車用エンジン部品製造で培った精密鋳造技術を基に、当時の日本では存在すら知られていなかったアルミホイールの製造技術を開発。国産初のアルミホイール生産を開始し、アメリカへの輸出を開始。

In 1967, applying the highest quality casting technology at that time, ENKEI started to develop aluminum alloy wheel production. Back then, aluminum wheels did not exist in Japan and ENKEI succeeded in manufacturing aluminum wheels and started the shipment against U.S. for the first time.

Looking ahead to the future and constantly improving its manufacturing technology, Enkei supplies OEM aluminum alloy wheels and engine parts to leading car and motorcycle makers. Enkei also makes Enkei branded aftermarket wheels as well as aftermarket wheels under other leading brands for domestic and oversea customers. Enkei's production sites are not limited to Japan but are in the UnitedStates, Thailand, Malaysia, China, Indonesia, Philippines, India, and Vetnam. Enkei has become a prominent aluminum wheel manufacturer in the world.
