DIGITAL LEARNING

Today the K-12 classroom has expanded well beyond chalkboards and overhead projectors. Digital learning, powered by flexible and scalable advanced communications services, has made it possible for students to gain richer, more dynamic access to information, whether it’s watching video lectures remotely, taking online exams or sharing information – even around the world.

But dwindling budgets and increasing regulations present a challenge to many schools in acquiring the technologies needed to fuel today’s digital learning environments. The E-rate program is an invaluable resource for K-12 schools and libraries to obtain affordable access to advanced telecommunication services, and Time Warner Cable Business Class offers a comprehensive suite of E-rate-eligible services – and Education Account Executives – to help you navigate the program and attain a robust and secure digital infrastructure.

Time Warner Cable Business Class became a compliant E-rate service provider in 1998, and we take pride in being one of the largest E-rate service providers today.

E-RATE PROGRAM

About the E-rate ProgramAs part of the Federal Telecommunications Act of 1996, the E-rate program was created to provide eligible K-12 schools and libraries with discounts of up to 90 percent on select telecommunications services to meet their growing connectivity needs. The E-rate program is administered by the Schools and Libraries Division (SLD) of the Universal Service Administrative Company (USAC). Learn more about E-rate on the USAC website.

Qualify for E-rate DiscountsTo qualify for discounts in the E-rate program, you must meet the statutory definitions for a school or a library and complete the required forms. Discount amounts on eligible services depend on economic need as determined by the National School Lunch Program as well as the school’s (or library’s) location. The Time Warner Cable Business Class Education team can provide helpful information to help you navigate this process. For assistance, please visit our comprehensive E-rate program page.

The Case for Digital LearningDigital learning environments are a great way to enrich the educational experience for teachers and students – and even parents. They must be fueled by the technology needed to drive personalized learning and to comply with new educational mandates. For instance, Common Core State Standards (CCSS) are creating standardized objectives to measure and guide student learning through a variety of digital formats and platforms.

E-RATE SERVICES

Tap Into Secure, CIPA-compliant ServicesThe Children’s Internet Protection Act (CIPA) requires e-safety education in all schools that receive a reimbursement for communication services through the E-rate program. We understand the importance of compliance with CIPA, and through our i-SAFE Affinity Program for digital e-safety curricula, we have partnered with industry-leading experts to give you the ease of accessing secure services while being CIPA-compliant.
