“AspartofcareandsupportforpeopleaffectedbyGBV,thehumanitariancommunityplaysacrucialroleinensuringsurvivorsgainaccesstoGBV-focusedcommunity-basedcareservicesand,asnecessaryandavailable,moretargetedmentalhealthcareprovidedbyGBVandtrauma-careexperts.Survivorsmayalsowishtoaccesslegal/justicesupportandpoliceprotection.Providinginformationtosurvivorsinanethical,safeandconfidentialmannerabouttheirrightsandoptionstoreportriskandaccesscareispresentedthroughouttheseGuidelinesasacross-cuttingresponsibility.HumanitarianactorsshouldworkwithGBVspecialiststoidentifysystemsofcare(i.e.referralpathways)thatcanbemobilizedifasurvivorreportsexposuretoGBV.Somehumanitariansectors—suchashealthandeducation—shouldhaveGBV-specialiststaffintegratedintotheiroperations.”
