• Grants to women science academics from developing or emerging economics of up to $50 k per annum for PhD or Post-Doc studies abroad:

– 14 New granted in 2005 out of 70 applicants – 33 New grantees in 2006 out of 80 applicants – 18 New grantees in 2007 out of 129 applicants – 28 New grantees in 2008 out of 180 applicants = TOTAL 93• Grant recipients return to their home countries to teach and actively role model –

100% success on home returns to date• An online forum and annual meetings connect and convene this community of

pioneering women

Goal: university capacity building in developing and emerging economies to improve faculty gender balance and ultimately to attract more young women into science disciplines
