UNCOVER EH collected information from more than 1,700 environmental health professionals in health departments across the nation. UNCOVER EH seeks to assess and improve the profession and practice of environmental health. Learn more at www.neha.org/uncover-eh. The environmental health workforce is an educated workforce with a median salary range directly proportional to the degree of higher education. Professionals with a doctorate make the highest median salary. Environmental health professionals with a bachelor’s degree at the local level are compensated more than professionals at the state level with the same degree. They also make the same as those at the state level with a master's degree.
