FROM THE PRINCIPAL PRESENTATION DAY What a wonderful acknowledgement of a great year our Presentation Day was. I congratulate all of those who were recognised on the occasion. I thank our committees co-ordinated by Mrs Hines (K-2) and Mrs Bailey, Mrs Van Amersfort, Mr Sherley and Mrs Gabrael (3-6) for a great event. I thank all of our parents who attended and ensured it was a valued experience by our community. Thank you to all staff members and finally, I say well done to all of our students who, through their actions and comments uphold the good name of Epping Public School.

NEW SCHOOL UNIFORM As indicated in last week’s newsletter and mentioned on Presentation Day, the P&C are seeking feedback on updating our school uniform. Presently there is a display in the main building, outside of the library, of the proposed new uniforms. I encourage you to have a look at the display. More information about the proposed new uniform and access to the survey can be found in the P&C section of the newsletter. A link to the survey will be sent via the school app and through the class parent email list. The survey will close on Friday 15 December.

THANK YOU MORNING TEA Recently parent helpers received an invitation to the ‘Thank You Morning Tea’ to be held on Monday 11 December. As always, we try to make sure we miss no one out but with over 150 invites sent out, invitations go missing, students forget to give them to parents or someone is accidently overlooked. Please, if you have helped the school in any way mark in your diary Monday 11 December. The morning tea will commence in the school hall at 11 am.

SCHOOL REDEVELOPMENT INFORMATION The next and final 2017 information booth regarding the school redevelopment will occur on Tuesday 12 December. The information booth will be set up on school grounds between 8:45am and 9:45am. The booth will then move to Epping Station later in the day.

EPPING PUBLIC SCHOOL NEWSLETTER The P&C would like to announce to the school community that we are reviewing the current school uniform with a view to introducing a new

school uniform mid-2018. Photos of the proposed uniform appear in the newsletter. As everyone within the school community is aware, EPS is about to undergo a major construction / facelift to facilitate an unprecedented increase in our student numbers due to the urban development that is taking place within the Epping precinct. Therefore, over the next 18 months the school will be undergoing construction, which will at times prove challenging, but it is also very exciting to think that at the end of this period we will have a brand new, state of the art, education facility. To coincide with the impending growth and development of EPS the P&C feel that it is time that the school uniform underwent a review. The reasons for a review are:

- The uniform has remained pretty much

unchanged for the past 50 years or so.

- We now live in an age where technology

and innovation in the textile industry has

provided us with materials far superior to

that of days gone by.

- We currently purchase items for the

school uniform from approx. 6 suppliers,

so it makes sense to streamline the

process whereby we purchase from 1

supplier. With having the 1 supplier we

have the option of contracting them to run

our uniform shop during the construction

of the new school; as it will be quite

challenging to provide a fully functional

uniform shop while the school undergoes

construction.

- Our current uniform pricing has remained

fairly fixed for a very long time and it is

unfortunately not sustainable. As a result,

we do need to bring our uniform pricing

into line with those of the schools in our

surrounding areas. Bearing this in mind it

would make sense for us to provide

students with a uniform of better quality.

Please note that the Uniform Shop is a

Opportunities for All

service provided by the Epping Public

School P&C Association. All profits made

are donated back to the school to provide

additional resources for all our students.

- We believe the proposed new uniform is

far superior to what we have now. The

quality, functionality and appearance of

this uniform far exceeds what we

currently have.

- We believe the construction of the new

school has provided us with a great

opportunity to upgrade our current school

uniform. We have the opportunity to

provide the students with not only a state

of the art education facility but also a new

school uniform that is current and reflects

the needs of our students today and into

the future.

Please note that we would like to get feedback from the school community as to what your thoughts are on our proposed upgrade of the school uniform. We have prepared a survey that we would encourage all parents to complete.

Please be aware that the survey will close at the end of day on Friday, 15 December. If you would like to view the proposed school uniform (which we would love for you to do) it is displayed adjacent to the school office. The link to the survey is: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/FQXXF7Z
