- Propulsion unit is delivered tilted against the transportation
support at the front edge of the bottom well cover and protect.ve
cap on the lower part
- when the umt has a noule, the lower part is leaning against
the trailing edge of the noule
- lifting 1s done by using two separate lifting hooks
- one hook is connected to the lifting eye on the lower part of
the unit
- on smaller units (AQM 361-901) the other hook is connected to
lifting eyes on both srdes of the upper part

other
hook 1S connected to the liftmg eye on the bottom well cover
- once the un1t is at upright position the hftong rope at the
lower part will become slack. It is then removed to the upper part
as well

- on larger units a lifting bar is used at upright position to
distnbute the weight evenly
NOTE II
The lifting ropes must be fastened so that the the machinery on
the bottom well cover is not damaged during lifting

INSTALLATION OF PROPULSION UNIT AND SHAFTING
Mountrna on board a vessel
Before installing. make sure that the casing plate flange on the
vessel's hull is flat and has a smooth and unscratched surtace. An
0-nng is Installed on it's groove on the bottom well flange and
sealing glue is applied on sealing surface.
After the propulsion unit has been lifted on the casing plate.
make sure that 11 is located in the centre. Then ltghten the bolts
evenly in pairs on opposite sides. The tightening torque of the
screws is 1420 Nm.
Note1 The propulSion unit must always be filled wtth 011 before
lowonng it into water. Also the gravity tank has to be filled with
oil and connected to the unit.
Install nina of shafting and bearings
Shaftline has to be aligned after the installation of Aquamaster
untt and the main engine.
Carrying out the alignment ( see fig. 1 )
Be.mngs. watertight penetration and flanges are mounted onto the
shafts Shaft No. 3 has to be aligned according to the matn encjne
and installation instruction of the flexible coupling.
