Babysitting Clinic Grades 5-8Sauk Rapids Women of Today

This hands-on clinic for students in grades 5-8, includes activities that focus on basic first aid, fire and weather safety, child development and parent expectations. Each participant will receive a certificate after successfully completing this two hour course.

Make the stars your old friends as you learn about the skies over Central Minnesota.The evening starts with an indoor orientation followed by quality time outside under the heavens. Learn about the constellations like The Big Bear, Orion the Hunter, Gemini the Twins, and the stories behind them. You’ll use some of the biggest mobile telescopes in the upper Midwest for close up views of the stars, nebulae, and galaxies in our late winter skies. Weather permitting; we’ll use an astronomical camera-telescope system for extra special views of our more distant universe. You’ll take home a big handout package with user-friendly star maps and constellation charts, apps, websites, a telescope-buying guide, and more! If it’s cloudy you’ll still learn a lot, have a great time and get a Mike Lynch “Cloud Check” for a future Minnesota Star watch class. Your universe is waiting! You’re invited to bring lawn chairs to make yourself comfy! Mike Lynch has been a meteorologist and broadcaster at WCCO Radio for near nearly 40 years and has been hosting star watching and astronomy programs for near 50 years. In addition, Mike writes a weekly stargazing column for the St. Paul Pioneer Press as well as other newspapers across the USA. The Bounce Back Project promotes health through happiness by reminding everyone of resiliency tools that are quick and easy to use. Research shows that using these simple tools can help us retrain our mind to focus on the positive and can increase feelings of well-being and decrease feelings of depression. These tools can also open us to the possibility of greater social connections, improved sleep, enhanced memory, and stronger immune system function. Anyone can use these tools to make a difference in their life.

Girls Fast Pitch Softball, 7-18 yrs old (May-July)Games will be scheduled with neighboring St. Cloud area communities at various fields. A jersey will be provided. Program participation is determined by age as of January 1, 2020.

All teams will play in a league, and led by paid coaches. Levels of play to potentially include: 8U, 10U, 12U, 14U, 16U and 18U.
