School Review
Yesterday marked a significant milestone for our school community as our school went through a peer review. As we were
assigned a peer review, I was able to choose the panel to assist us in reviewing how our school has travelled over the past 4
years in terms of literacy, numeracy, and student well- being and attendance. Our panel consisted of the reviewer, two
principals of my choice and selected staff who hold key roles within our school. One of the principals who supported us for
the day was Fernando Ianni, Principal of Roxburgh College. Many of our grade 6 students transition into the College from
our school and we enjoy a positive relationship between schools. I would like to thank the following grade 6 students; Eman,
Rahmah, Belinay, Jade, Damon, Christopher, Mehmat Ali, Taylan, Anisa and Ali who were either a part of the school self -
evaluation or kicked off the review day by chatting with the review panel about their impressions of our school. It was a
long, exhausting, rigorous but highly productive day. We will receive our Review Report next week which will be shared with
School Council on November 17th. The recommendations will form the basis for our new strategic plan which will guide our
school for the next four years. It is an exciting time in our school’s history and we are really proud of the gains we have
made but acknowledge there is always room to improve. We continue to generate possibilities for our students through a
continued clear focus for learning that includes rigour and challenge. We have a clear mandate: to improve the learning and
empower every single student so they may have choices in life to pursue their dreams.

Every Day Counts… How do you feel about our improved attendance for term 3?
I feel proud that we had less late arrivals to school than in term 2 – Amber-Rose Irwin.
I feel that it’s really good that we have improved so much from term 2. We halved the amount of people late – Angel
Soubjaki.
What will we do next as a grade to keep on improving?
We need to keep improving by coming on time and being here every day – Tyler Harms.
I would like to halve our lateness again for term 4. We could have a prize for anybody who comes in on time all term –
Zeiad Elmahdi.
In Grade 5 Pat we discussed the importance of being at school on time. We have noticed that we have improved
our punctuality from term 2 to term 3. This has stopped us from missing out on important information at the start
of the day and also meant there have been less disruptions to our learning. To make further improvement we are
going to aim to be more organised at home and making sure we have an early night so we are active and ready to
start the day.
