THE FUTURE OF THE EARTH

The future is a mystery to everyone. Some people would argue that the future is bright because modern technology will soon be able to solve most problems in our society. Other people think that modern technology will bring about the destruction of the world. If we consider the recent negative environmental and social trends in the world today it is impossible to be optimistic about the future.The future of earth depends about us, many people think the technology will control our life and we will be just a marionettes in the hands of artificial inteligence. Most of us look at computers and new technology as the latest way to spend our down time and relax. We are becoming lazy. Our whole lives have become encompassed by the world of quicker, more advanced technology. I think that the evolution of technology will help us to cure diseases, to live longer. Also I think with that high technology we will conquer the space, we will colonize this planets. The main problem of the future is the human himself, his ambition to have more, to be more powerful it will affects the peace in our world, on this idea, I think may it will happen in the future a war because with power appears the greed wich will spark this war. We are in the age of speed so I think the speed level of travelling it will improve so I imagine in the few decades we will travel in air, around the world in few hours, with planes wich are flying with super speed. But it will appear another problem wich is discussed in our days, the fuel for this machines. We know that this level of resources are will gone in few decades. However, we dream of a car which can move by electricity and which is clean on the environmental side. It won't need a driver. There will be no car crashes, because computer-controlled cars will safely find out an adequate way. What drivers will have to do is to inform the car where its destination is and then the computer can to do the rest.However, modern technology also brings many disadvantages. Pollution is one result of increased technology and industrialization. The effects of this can be seen in the destruction of the ozone layer as well as global warming. Improvements in technology have also increased the effectiveness of weapons, especially weapons of mass destruction.In my opinion, this escalating desire for physical goods is initiating the depletion of our resources and the destruction of our environment. In their quest for material products, are causing catastrophes, such as the greenhouse effect, hazardous wastes, and a growing number of landfills. This in turn pollutes the planet and catalyzes global warming.
