Engineering Studies Seminar Series Fall 2014 Six informative weeks, Wednesday evenings, 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. in CAMP 177 Learn about engineering majors at Clarkson, and how to make your choice of major. Anyone may attend. Attendance by Engineering Studies students is required at each session. Date Topic September 10 Engineering Careers, Choices and Tools at Clarkson University September 17 Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering & Environmental Engineering September 24 Civil Engineering & Mechanical Engineering October 1 Aeronautical Engineering & Electrical Engineering October 8 Computer Engineering & Software Engineering October 15 Engineering and Management & Center For Engineering Science and Technology(CREST) In the first session you will learn about an overview of the engineering majors at Clarkson, meet your Engineering Studies advisor, First Year Advisor, First Year Advisor, and Engineering Career Center personnel, and learn about different tools available at Clarkson to help you focus on self- assessment and career exploration. In each subsequent session you will learn about the majors: What does a xxx engineer do? What is a profile of a xxx engineer? What kind of education does a xxx engineer need? Where does a xxx engineer work? How can I learn more about xxx engineering? SPEED teams, professional societies, internships, people to talk with…. These sessions will have a 20-minute presentation on each major. There will be time for questions and answers in each session. Come and plan your future!
