How did you attract/

address your audience?

I firstly attracted my audience by have a large picture on the cover. This allowed the audience to see the artist and not have

their face covered by loads of writing or the title. I kept the writing to a minimal and allowed the picture to take over and let

the rest of the magazine have the information. I also didn't put too much text on the page because if there is a lot it can be-

come overcrowded and also look very messy. A lot of magazines are full of writing for the pop magazines. But for the one I

was making they tend not to have many in shops that you can see. So I made mine so that it would stand out with the darker

colours and not have it bright pink with a brightly dressed artist on the cover. This would attract my audience because it

would allow them to spot the magazine in shops and also draw their eye towards that magazine from the genre that they

want rather then making the audience confused about what style of magazine it is.

I could also attract my audience by making the contents page have enough information on to draw the audiences eye to read

the pages that they sound interesting. I didn't put loads of information on the contents page because I thought that would

make the contents page to be like the main pages of the magazine, then hardly any one would ever read the full articles be-

cause the contents page says the majority of what's said anyway.

I also attracted them by using a bold font and large font. This will attract them because it will allow them to see the title and

be able to understand what it says. I used the large font so that people could read it and not have to get up close to know

what it says. I made her name to be a brighter colour than the title, so that people could see who the artist is and understand

that this magazine has her on it and maybe an article inside about her. The quote about her allowed people to get an insight

into her and know a bit about how she feels at the time of the interview and what she thinks about how she is doing in life

now.

When carrying out my research I found out that my audience would be around the 'Indie Scenesters' theme. From this I made

sure that my fashion for the artist was correct and linked well with the theme I was going for and the magazine theme/layout

was to the standards of the indie scenesters theme. This also allowed me to understand a bit more about what they like and

how to attract them to read my magazine because the research allowed me to identify everything I need to know about the

theme and how to make sure I made the magazine to the best standards it can be.
