DETECTION Actions undertaken for the discovery and assessment of
unauthorised access or removal of radioactive material, or of attempted sabotage during transport.
RESPONSE Actions undertaken following detection to prevent an adversary to complete his task. Typically performed by
security or law enforcement personnel.
DELAY Actions to increase adversary task time. Must be equal or
greater than the response time
DETERRENCE Actions undertaken to discourage someone from doing something or persuade someone not to do something
PHYSICAL PROTECTION OF THE RADIOACTIVE AND NUCLEAR MATERIALS DURING TRANSPORT. Physical protection measures used to prevent theft, unauthorized use or sabotage.
