PairedwiththeappropriateRFdaughterboard,theUSRPsys-
temscanaddresssoftwareradioapplicationsfromDCto6GHz.
TheUSRPN200seriesbuildsonthesuccessoftheUSRP2,
offeringhigherperformanceandincreasedflexibility.Theseries
comprisestheUSRPN210fordemandingapplicationsandthe
USRPN200forlowcostsolutions.
High-speedandhighprecisionADCsandDACsallowforwide
bandsignalswithahighdynamicrange.AGigabitEthernetinter-
faceenablessimultaneouslysendingupto50MHzofRFband-
widthinandoutoftheUSRPsoftwareradio.TheUSRPN200
seriesfeaturesXilinx®Spartan®3A-DSPFPGAswhichare
optimizedforDSPapplicationsandallowprocessingcomplex
waveformsathighsamplerates.TheUSRPN210ispoweredby
anFPGAthatoffers50%moreresourcesthantheUSRPN200
enablingmorecomplexcodeontheFPGAtomatchtheneedsof
demandingapplications.
Onbothmodelshighsamplerateprocessing,likedigitalup-
anddownconversion,takesplaceintheFPGA.Lowersample
rateoperationscanbeperformedonthehostcomputer,orin
theFPGA,whichcontainsa32-bitRISCmicroprocessor.The
USRP’sconfigurationandfirmwarearestoredinonboardFlash
toallowforeasyprogrammingoverthenetwork.
Thetwoonboarddigitaldownconverters(DDCs)mix,filter,and
decimate(from100MS/s)incomingsignalsintheFPGA.Two
digitalupconverters(DUCs)interpolatebasebandsignalsto100
MS/sbeforetranslatingthemtotheselectedoutputfrequency.
TheDDCsandDUCscombinedwiththehighsampleratesalso
greatlysimplifyanalogfilteringrequirements.
MultipleUSRPsystemscanbeconnectedtogethertoformfully
coherentmultipleantennasystemsforMIMOoperation.The
masteroscillatorcanbelockedtoanexternalreference,and
thereisa1pulsepersecond(1PPS)inputforprecisetimingap-
plications.AnoptionalinternalGPSDOisalsoavailable.
DaughterboardsmountedontheUSRPprovideflexible,fullyin-
tegratedRFfront-ends.Awidevarietyofdaughterboardsallows
youtousedifferentfrequenciesfromDCto6GHzforabroad
