Fraser Island’s famous 75-Mile Beach is a highway and an air-strip and has recently been named one of the top ten best beaches and an ecologist’s dream by National Geographic. It’s also on our front doorstep, which makes Eurong a great beach-front base to start your Fraser Island 4x4 adventure.

Fuel up the car and, within seconds of leaving the resort, you’re on the eastern beach sandy highway and on track for some spectacular scenery.

Head north along the beach to the Maheno shipwreck, the very popular Eli Creek swimming spot, up to Indian Head for the best view and then on to the Champagne Pools.

Fraser’s very own lakes district lies west of the resort and the island’s Southern Lakes Circuit takes in the best of the bottom end, but make sure you check your island condition report before setting out.

And if the call of the wild appeals, catch a sunrise over 75-Mile Beach. Then, when the exploring’s done, relax with a cool drink at our famous Eurong XXXX Beach Bar.

Lake McKenzie is an absolute must do.

TOP TIP: Stay longer and pay less off peak. Check eurong.com.au for great seasonal deals or follow us on Facebook or Instagram.

A 4x4 adventure awaits you along 75-Mile Beach.

There aren’t too many beach resorts that can boast that they’re built in the dunes beside one of the world’s best beaches… but Eurong Beach Resort can. Set on Fraser Island’s famous east coast – it’s an easy ferry trip and four-wheel drive from River Heads (Hervey Bay) via Wanggoolba Creek; Kingfisher Bay Resort to the west; and from Rainbow Beach (via Inskip Point) to the south.

You won’t find tar-sealed roads or designer boutiques, but you will find the best coffee and bakery for 75 miles, a well-stocked general store, bottle shop and petrol station with everything you’ll need for your island adventure – whether you’re staying here or just passing through.

Our resort pools and spa and hot showers are sure to hit the spot after a day spent exploring and, if you want to try your hand at fishing whilst on Fraser, ask our team about fishing rod hire.

75 miles of golden beach highway, a 4x4 and you… an action-packed adventure awaits on Fraser Island – and you’re in the driver’s seat from start to finish.

Discover Fraser in a 4x4

Eurong is undoubtedly one of Queensland’s most scenic resort locations, but who would’ve thought this large sandy isle could support so much life.

Lush rainforest grows at Wanggoolba Creek and at the island’s historical heart, Central Station. Stands of Satinay and Kauri Pine grow in sand at the serene Pile Valley and off-the-beaten-track at the Valley of the Giants – both are worth a visit.

Make sure you also add Lake Wabby to your Fraser Island must-dos. It’s just a short drive north of the resort and is home to giant catfish. It’s also great for a swim.

Or let us do the driving for you…

If driving on sand is not your thing, consider an all-inclusive 2 Day 1 Night Fraser Explorer Tour ex Rainbow Beach or Hervey Bay. Our local guides know all the best places and the stories behind them. They’ll happily manage the tides, the traffic and the driving.

For more information or to book a tour visit eurong.com or call 1800 FRASER (toll free).

An oasis in the sand: Central Station and Pile Valley.

TOP TIP: Don’t have a 4x4? Our team can recommend some top companies in Hervey Bay, Sunshine Coast and Rainbow Beach or ask about our great value 4WD Packages.
