    * One day sk i pass for an adult at the weekend at the beginning of January

    The majority of the large-scale European Ski Resorts offer day passes for adults for EUR 40 – 50 in the main season. Only the French Ski Resorts of Les 3 Valleesand Val d’Isere and the Swiss ones offer their tickets at a higher price.

    The significantly higher prices of the Swiss Ski Resorts are also a result of the change in the exchange rate of the Swiss Franc happening in January 2015. But also when using the exchange rate from December 2014 the Swiss Ski Resorts would be on top of the list.

    It also needs to be noted, that in some Ski Resorts it is possible to buy cheaper tickets for selected areas.

    * Eurostat

    If connected to the average monthly net salary in the respective country, Bukovel in the Ukraine is the most expensive Ski Resort for domestic skiers. With the Ukrainian average net salary of EUR 157 it is only possible to buy around 6 one-day ski passes forBukovel. Also in the top 10 of the most expensive ski passes for domestic visitors are Bulgaria (Bansko, Borovets and Pamporovo), Romania (Poiana Brasov), Serbia (Kopaonik), Russia (Rosa Khutor and Prielbrus), Slovakia (Jasna/Chopok) and Mavrovo (Macedonia).

    Possible explanations are either a focus on international guests with a higher purchasing power or an orientation on the domestic upper-class (with, at the same time, limited domestic competition in the offered quality segment).
