During the event, transportation was organised by busses

which circulated after a fixed and published schedule which

was adapted according to the game schedule. The busses

could also be used by players who wanted to watch other

games.

All the meals were taken at the hotel. The food was fresh,

good quality and variety. Two hot meals were served daily.

The meal timings were tailored to meet player needs. Veg-

etarian meals could be ordered. Water was made avail-

able in the restaurant and in the competition venue for the

players throughout the event.

All participants were presented with tourist information on

Cyprus and the region of Paralimni. On Tuesday evening,

all team officials were invited to a dinner by local authori-

ties of Avgorou. On Wednesday (free day after the pool

games) the OC organised an excursion to Lefkosia with a

typical Cyprus meal for lunch.

The Closing Ceremony was held at 22.00 on September

24th after the finals in the hotel garden. The ceremony,

which was very pleasant, contained the traditional speech-

es, the medal awards ceremony and a subsequent cultural

programme. The highest authority present was the Mayor

of Paralimni.

The President of the European University Sports Associa-

tion mr. Enno Harms thanked and congratulated the Or-

ganising Committee for managing to stage such a profes-

sional, enjoyable and high standard event.
