    The Oregon District Business Association

    (ODBA) is now receiving comprehensive

services rom the DDP as part o a one-yearmanagement agreement that went into efect

in early August. Under the agreement, Oregon

District businesses will receive services similar

to those received by businesses and prop-

erty owners in the Downtown Dayton SID.

These services all into ve major categories

    including business recruitment and retention;

    marketing/advocacy; housing development;

    amenity development; and environmental

    services, including the Downtown Dayton

    Ambassador Program.

For the most part, we are an all-volunteer

organization, and we need the services that

the DDP ofers. It is truly a win-win agreement

or both our organizations, said Tom Tornatore,

    president o the ODBA.

Steps towards a closer working relation-

ship with the Oregon District began several

months ago when a representative rom the

ODBA joined the DDP Board o Trustees. DDP

President Sandy Gudor also serves on the

ODBA board. We are very excited to servicethe Oregon District, said Gudor. Regardless

o district boundaries, we are all part o down-

town Dayton, and this agreement allows us all

    to work more closely together.

I am just so pleased that we will all be work-

ing together, said Mayor Rhine McLin, co-ch

o the Partnership. Theres no doubt that weare all stronger when we are working togeth

helping to grow and strengthen downtown

    and its businesses.

    Nights on Friday,

    come explore the

    creative side o

    downtown. With

    more than 100

    participating busi-

    nesses and organizations, Urban Nights

is the perect example o collaboration

at its best. From restaurants and retail-

    ers to downtown housing, galleries,

and arts organizations, there is literally

something or everyone to see and do.

All o our partners and participating

venues really put a lot o eort into the

event, and recently we learned that

Urban Nights is receiving a Downtown

    Achievement Award rom the Interna-

    tional Downtown Association or the

    best special events and promotions

    category at their annual conerence.

Thanks to everyone who helps us makethis event a success.

And speaking o collaborations, the DDP

is so excited about our new arrange-

ment with the Oregon District. The

Oregon District is one o downtowns

    biggest attractions, and working closely

with the businesses and property own-

ers is an important step in growing and

    strengthening our entire downtown

    community.

In the months ahead as we continue

to address issues acing downtown, we

will look at ways that we can collaborate

more with others to help move down-

    town in the right direction.
