FIFA PERSPECTIVES OCTOBER 2016

Events Pan India for the Membership Drive:

All members are well aware that FIFA is growing by leaps and bounds. And all this is happening because of all FIFA members who have been putting effort in getting members across India.

FIFA has a group of 60 plus Champions who have been tirelessly working Day-In and Day-Out to get members across India.

Few efforts are mentioned below:

Coming to the main Pillar of FIFA, Mr. Sanjay Khatri has travelled across India and got members from across the country. A list of events he has done for FIFA on the topic of ‘How to grow your retail busi-ness’ is as below:

He has been travelling to-fro tirelessly with a motive

to make FIFA reach 2000 by March 2017.He started

his journey with FIFA on April 2016 So far he has visit-

ed Vadodara, Jabalpur, and Amravati on 24, 29and 30

April 2016 respectively. Earlier this year he visited Nag-

pur,Ahmedabad,Anand,Chandigarh,Jullundhur,Amritsa

Like Mr. Sanjay Khatri, even Ms. Roopa Venkatkrishnan travels across cities for meeting.

Recently she travelled to Kerela, Banglore and Coimba-tore. A large number of IFA’s attended the event and many of them joined FIFA.

From the East Zone Mr. Divya Khemka, Mr Ram Babu Shah, Mr Harsh Agarwal and Mr Niraj Parekh travelled to silliguri. In Aug-Sept Mr. Shyam Singhania, Mr. Mrigesh Balwa travlled to Tinsukia, Dibrugarh and Dhuliajan . Mr. Divya Khemaka and Mr. Shyam Singhania travelled to Shil-long in Sept.

Mr Pallav Bagaria has been tirelessly giving his effort to get members from East Zone.

Mr. Abhenav Khatri and Mr Pallav Bagaria on oth-er hand have been conducting classes for CFP from Mid August to end September 2016.

FIFA East team has been helping FIFA members to clear the challenger module 5 of CFP. This exam helps IFAs to become CFP by clearing just one exam. The training was done by Mr Rahul Banerjee, a resource member of FPSB. Twenty four FIFA members attended the intensive 45 day training and so far six have cleared the exam and have become CFPs.

The others are slated to sit for the exam shortly.

A big salute to all of them for spending their precious time on FIFA to make it grow by leaps and bounds.

Happenings

Two of the largest economies of the world are witnessing unprecedented changes in their

social, political and economic fabric. United States of America has a new president who has

defied all logic, opinion poll estimates and even the popular vote to some extent to win one

of the fiercest election ever fought in the history. On one hand while this shows the white

male dominance over the fairer sex, on the other hand it marks a beginning of a new era of

protectionism and selective racism propagated by the politicians. We in India have also seen

something completely unthought-of. Government has decided to demonetize INR 500 and

1000 currency notes, with a provision of replacing the 500 rupee note with a newer version

and taking out the 1000 rupee note completely. A new 2000 rupee note is introduced amid

confusion, chaos and short term inconvenience for citizens of India. While corrupt politicians

shed crocodile tears in name of inconvenience caused to the masses, this move by the gov-

ernment can have meaningful positive impact on the Indian economy in the long run. Our

country has been plagued by the negatives of a parallel economy for decades since inde-

pendence. This exercise shall deliver a body blow to all those who have unaccounted money

on which no tax has been paid. This shall not only lead to a clean-up of our economic system

but shall also shall help reduce inflation making it easier for the government to cut the inter-

est rates. Inflation and interest shall continue their downward journey in foreseeable future

Fall in interest rates is positive for everyone as it brings down the cost of funds in an econo-

my. This is beneficial for debt ridden companies, companies looking to raise fresh funds,

banks and consumers who want to take loans. Lower interest rates shall fire the growth en-

gine of Indian economy through strong consumption and investments by corporates over a

period of time. The government is through with most of the tough economic measures in

the first 3 years of its regime, now it shall shift the focus on economic growth.

The mutual fund industry is looking at increasing its investor base to 9 crore from 2 crore at present in the next five years and hopes that demonetisation will boost flow of capital and get new investors on board. According to an industry estimate, of the 120 crore population, merely 2 crore are investing in mutual funds currently. The indus-try, comprising 40 fund houses, is looking to make it to 9 crore over 3-5 years. Around 20 fund houses in the country are steeped in losses. Of 2 crore people who have invested in MF products, 1.08 crore have put their money in systematic investment plans. "Our study says there are nine crore people living in the country with investment surplus and currently, merely 2 crore of them are investing in mutual fund products. We are looking to make it to 9 crore over 3-5 years," Association of Mutual Funds of India Chief Executive CVR Rajendran said. "It is estimated that there will be a cash flow to the tune of Rs 7 trillion to the banking system due to the ongoing demonetisation move and the mutual fund industry will definitely get a significant chunk of this flow in due course," he said. "While banks with huge deposits will be investing in fund houses of their own, the retail investors will also put their money in the equity funds in hope of getting better returns."

In yet another flip-flop, the finance

ministry on Friday said artisans, work-

ers and housewives earlier exempted

from questioning for depositing up to

Rs2.5 lakh in their bank accounts could

be prosecuted if they are found to have

helped in turning black money into

white.

Revenue secretary Hasmukh Adhia had

said earlier that tax authorities will not

question such categories of people for

depositing old currencies of Rs 500 and

Rs 1,000 below the taxable income level

of Rs 2.5 lakh.
