Description: Fluid Motion can provide theatre making workshops on the following themes; autobiographical theatre-making, devising and physical theatre. Description: Proteus has a wealth of experience working with schools; it prefers to create be-spoke workshops to suit individual year group or class needs – including trouble shooting devised pieces during the process for GCSE students. However, it is also happy to structure workshops around a given theme or art form: physical theatre, improvisation, vocal work, Shakespeare and other scripted text, etc. Proteus is able to deliver the Arts Award at Discover- Silver levels.

Description: The network connects schools and colleges with businesses and careers activity providers and can support you to meet the requirements of the government’s career strategy guidance. Each school/college receives a senior business volunteer (Enterprise Advisor) who works with the senior leadership team to help develop a sustainable careers activity plan and create connections to the local business community as well as providing tools and information to support delivery and monitoring.

Description: Fluid Motion has devised its own employability programme that uses drama techniques to deliver a practical course across five or ten weeks. The pro-gramme boosts confidence, increases emotional resilience and enables stu-dents to test out their learning through exercises and role play in a safe and constructive environment.

Description: Young people set up and run a student company under the guidance of a business volunteer. Students make all the decisions about their business, from deciding on the company name, managing the company finances and selling to the public. Participants gain practical business experience and key employ-ability skills and can take part in local and UK competitions.

LEGO® Mindstorms™Provider: Hampshire Cultural Trust - Milestones

Description: The LEGO Mindstorms EV3 kit is the latest in robotics technology – a programmable computer brick with attachable motors and sensors which can be built and programmed into an enormous variety of working robots.

LEGO Mindstorms EV3 is a highly interactive, challenge-based session designed to reflect the nature of the historical technology collections of Milestones Museum. Those who built and operated these machines in the past faced similar challenges, and also used the same skills to overcome design and function difficulties. This workshop involves computer coding, mathematics problem-solving and design and engineering challenges using the robots.

Homes and DiscoveryProvider: Hampshire Cultural Trust - Milestones

Description: Homes and Discovery is one of a series of themed Living History sessions designed to immerse students in history amongst Milestones’ historical streets and buildings. Each session is overseen by a costumed interpreter, who will facilitate activities to enable students to identify similarities and differences between homes in different periods, and to discuss them in everyday historical terms.

VictoriansProvider: Hampshire Cultural Trust - Milestones

Description: Students will actively participate in a Victorian school lesson in the Board School room and meet a member of the Hampshire-based Kingdon family, who owned and ran an ironmonger’s shop in Basingstoke town centre from 1886. Students learn to understand how aspects of life and work in Britain changed in Victorian times for adults and children by learning about education and industrial developments through a range of immersive activities and demonstrations using the museum’s collections and displays. They are able to recognise that the Victorian period was a time of great ingenuity and philanthropy as well as industrialisation and have an opportunity to experience what aspects of life and industry during Victorian times were like. Includes a Victorian Board School, Taskers iron foundry, how cast iron is made and how steam engines work.

World War TwoProvider: Hampshire Cultural Trust - Milestones

Description: Consisting of ‘Blitz’ and ‘WW2 Jobs’. For ‘Blitz’, a costumed facilitator in role as an ARP warden will talk about, demonstrate and invite students to participate in a range of experiences that were commonplace on the British Home Front during the Second World War. For ‘WW2 Jobs’, the costumed facilitator will talk about, demonstrate and perhaps invite students to participate in different jobs that were carried out on the British Home Front during the Second World War. Students learn how ordinary life and people in Britain were affected by the Second World War and learn about air raids, gas masks, Anderson shelter, the blackout, plane identification and the role of an ARP warden. They will also look at new roles taken on by women and men at home in Britain during WW2, why these roles were required and what was involved.

Description: The Willis Museum has two self-led programmes available for KS1 and KS2.

Resource packs on our website contain activities which are linked to the KS1 & KS2 curriculum. They are designed to be used flexibly so that teachers and edu-cators can pick activity stations which are most relevant or interesting for pupils.

Description: The 1 in 10 Project seeks to provide quick, focused, drama-based intervention for young people aged 11 to 16 to explore mental health topics and increase understanding. Theatre staff work with a different group of students each day across years 7 to 11. Each group focuses on a different mental health topic chosen by the students and create an 8 to 10 minute theatrical response. The project culminates in a celebration performance to parents, staff and peers at the end of the week.

Duration: One year group per day across one week. Showcase performance either on the Friday evening or Saturday evening.

Description: My Journey is working with schools in Hampshire to encourage alternatives to car travel on the school run. By encouraging walking, cycling, scooting or using public transport for school journeys your school can help to reduce congestion and pollution in the local area making it a nicer place to live and learn. We have lots of fantastic, fun and engaging initiatives for teachers, parents and children across the county, including lesson plans, cycle skills training and Park & Stride, to name a few, which can contribute to Modeshift STARS national schools awards.
