Audit report 1. Greg Taylor, D. Williams and Company, presented the 2018 draft audit reports for the

Chamber and the Audit for the Foundation.a. Taylor reported an unqualified opinion for both audits.b. Approval to present the Chamber audit was made with a motion by Chris and a

second by Dana Madison.c. Approval of the Foundation audit was made with a motion by Chris Lonngren and a

second by Dana Madison.

Lubbock Chamber Foundation Board Meeting 1. Review April 2019 Financial Recaps

a. Approval was made with a motion by Chris Lonngren and a second by Casey Doyle.2. Chairman Able Castro presented the request to ratify a donation give to the Tornado

Memorial Gateway Project.a. Approval was made with a motion by Immediate Past Chairman Cory Powell and a

second by Chris Lonngren.

A member of the Board of Directors who shall be absent without prior notification from three (3) consecutive regular meetings during any program year (January through December) of the Board of Directors shall automatically be dropped from membership. Members absent from five (5) regular meetings during the program year unless absences are approved by a majority vote at a duly called meeting of the Board shall be dropped from membership on the board.

• The Chamber authored an Op-Ed in the Lubbock A-J this week discussing the impact of the 86th Legislative Session on Lubbock business.

Agriculture & Natural Resources • The Committee this month was briefed by Tom Sell of Combest, Sell and Associates on the impact

on agriculture of current trade issues, such as the U.S. Mexico Canada Trade Agreement and proposed tariff increases on Mexico.

Transportation • The Committee this month was briefed by Ed Mortimer of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce on the

outlook for a federal transportation and infrastructure bill. • We are working to collect input from Lubbock businesses regarding air travel needs and preferred

routes in preparation for outreach visits with airlines later this year including the Chamber and Lubbock Mayor Dan Pope.
