The Story of Exodus
The book of Exodus is a story of redemption, which begins with the oppression of a nationunder external rule – but ends with their freedom in a promised land. In this story, God leadsHis people on a miraculous journey out of slavery, revealing Himself as gracious andcompassionate Deliverer; a powerful King who hears our cries and is able to liberate us fromour bondage.
Similarly, Project Exodus is a strategy, designed to release individuals from the bondage ofaddiction. Pointing to God as the ultimate restorer of life, Project Exodus also equipsindividuals with vital knowledge and skills, required for sustainable recovery. The aim is to leadas many people as possible, out of the darkness, through the wilderness, and into the light.
“I AM the Lord, your God, who brought youout of Egypt, out of the land of slavery.”

▪ Reduce biopsychosocial and economic impact of addiction.▪ Strengthen mechanisms for implementing cost-effective interventions to
empower vulnerable groups.▪ Ensure sharing of current good practices in reducing harm.▪ Support the ability of all people in South Africa to deal with problems
