China Import and Export Fair, also renowned as Canton Fair, is held biannually in Guangzhou every session since 1957. The Fair, comprehensive in nature, has won its reputation of “China’s No.1 Fair” for its longest history, the largest scale, the most complete exhibit variety, the biggest buyer attendance and the greatest business turnover in China.
To promote import and trade balance, the International Pavilion of Canton Fair has been set up especially for International exhibitors since its 101st session in the spring of 2007. With the huge influence of Canton Fair home and abroad, the International Pavilion attracts over 600 overseas exhibitors from more than 40 countries and regions, over 90,000 professionals every session.

On April 18th, International Pavilion and Guangzhou Municipal Chamber of Commerce,
Federation of Indian Export Organisations proudly hosted the “The Belt and Road
Initiative, Focus on India” event. Officials shared their view on the “The Belt and Road
Initiative” and the future development between China and India.
In recent years, Chinese government has been positively implementing “The Belt and Road Initiative” strategy. Canton Fair plays a very important role in enhancing the trade relationship between China and other countries. I encourage Indian companies to seize this opportunity to explore Chinese market.

China is now India’s largest trading partner with bilateral trade in 2015 registering over USD 70 billion. However, there is a huge trade imbalance in favour of China. While the governments of India and China are taking steps to implement policies to further boost bilateral trade.

Indian government will implement more policy to attract more investment from home and abroad, including tax abatement, convenience of investment and IP protection.
