PartnersThe Museums in Somerset Group is a network of over 50

museums and heritage organisations within Somerset and NorthSomerset. It aims to promote public access to, and interest in, the

two areas’ heritage.

The Visit Somerset project is supported and funded by allSomerset local district authorities, Somerset County Council, North

Somerset Council and the South West Regional Development Agency.

Somerset Heritage Service works with partners and thecommunity to preserve, protect, promote and interpret the heritageof Somerset. It celebrates the contribution that Somerset’s heritage

makes to the character, quality of life and distinctiveness of thecounty. It enables Somerset people and others to enjoy, learn about,

understand and gain access to their rich heritage.

Renaissance – museums for changing lives – is a programme totransform England’s regional museums. It aims to make them world-

class and fit for the 21st century.

Museums, Libraries and Archives Council – Leadingstrategically, the MLA promotes best practice in museums, libraries

and archives, to inspire innovative, integrated and sustainableservices for all.
