  • HTML Export Service Installation

HTML Export Service Purpose The HTML Export Service is used to generate static versions of document collections, which are maintained in the SAP Knowledge Warehouse. In this process, all references to logical info objects are defined as references to physical info objects. Static versions can be generated in two different formats:

Compiled HTML (*.chm), which can be displayed using the Microsoft HTML Help Viewer Standard HTML (PlainHTML), which can be displayed using standard Web browsers

Besides R/3 functions, the service also incorporates components that have to be installed directly on a Windows 2000 Server. These components are: SAP HTML Export Services and Microsoft HTML Help Workshop 1.3.

HTML Export Service - Installation Requirements The system on which the server components of the HTML Export Service are to be installed has to fulfill the following requirements:

Hardware Hard disk capacity 2 GB

    Main memory 128 MB

    Processor Pentium Processor 150 MHz

Software Operating system Microsoft Windows 2000 Server (English

version), Internet Explorer 5.0 or 5.5

    File system NTFS

Before you can use the HTML Export Service on a Windows 2000 Server (by starting the sapiwexp.exe program), you have to:

Execute Customizing activities for the HTML Export Service in the R/3 System (see below: Configuring the SAP Knowledge Warehouse)

Add the host name and the gateway of your R/3 application server and the destination number that you assigned for the Windows 2000 Server when configuring the Knowledge Warehouse to the SAPIWEXP.INI file on the Windows 2000 Server (see transaction SI24 in the Knowledge Warehouse -> Settings in the Knowledge Warehouse System HTML Export for Generating Static Display Formats Server).

  • HTML Export Service Installation

At the end of the installation routine and the server reboot, carry out the following activities on the Microsoft Windows 2000 machine:

    1. Download the file htmtltidy_*.exe from the SAP Service Marketplace: Alias patches Navigation path: SAP KW -> SAP KW 6.0 -> Binary Patches -> HTMLTIDY 6.0 SAPGUI -> Win32

    2. The file htmltidy_*.exe is a self-extracting ZIP archive. Double-click on the file to unzip the content. The file contains five files: htmltidy.dll, htmltidy.ini, htmltidy.cor, htmltidy_source.zip and README.txt.

    3. Copy the files htmltidy.dll and htmltidy.ini into the directory \system32. 4. Register the DLL using regsvr32.exe.

After the successful registration of HTMLTIDY the server-side installation is complete.

Configuration in the R/3 System Setting Up Services on the R/3 Application Server In this Customizing activity, you set up background processes for scheduling export jobs, analyzing contents to be exported, and exporting contents to the Windows 2000 host on which the server components of the HTML Export Service are installed. At least three background processes must exist in the R/3 System of the Knowledge Warehouse.

    1. Start transaction SI24 in your Knowledge Warehouse.

    2. Choose Settings in the Knowledge Warehouse System HTML Export for Generating Static Display Formats System.

    12 Dezember 2002

    3. The System Settings dialog box appears. To make entries, choose Change Display.

    4. If you want to use the same configuration of the HTML Export Service for all languages, leave the Language field blank. Otherwise, choose the language for which you want to configure the HTML Export Service.

    5. In the Gateway Server or Gateway Service field, enter the host name or the gateway of the R/3 application server that is used to connect the Windows 2000 Export Server to the R/3 System.

    6. In the Scheduler Server, Analysis Server, and Export Server fields, enter the name of your R/3 application server in the form __, where stands for the host name of the application server, stands for the name of the R/3 System, and stands for the system number.

    7. In the Scheduler Server: Period field, enter the time period (the number of minutes) after which the scheduler is to check on the Windows 2000 Export Server for inactive export instances that can process jobs to be exported.

Make sure that the time period entered here is at least as long as the general scheduling time period, which is stored in the rdisp/btctime profile parameter (in seconds) for background jobs in the R/3 System.

    8. In the Analysis Server: Number of Jobs field, enter the number of jobs that the analysis service is to process at one time.

    9. In the Export Server: Number of Jobs field, enter the number of jobs that the export service is to process at one time. The number entered here has to be less than or equal to the number of instances that you set up on the Windows 2000 Export Server (see below).

If you do not fill these fields, all contents are exported to the specified destination.

    5. In the Dest. No. field, use the input help to choose the destination to which the contents specified are to be exported.

    6. Save the data.

Note The Priority and Variant fields are only relevant if you have activated automatic instantiation of contents that were imported into a dedicated Knowledge Warehouse consolidation system (see below).

    14 Dezember 2002

  • HTML Export Service Installation

If you have installed and configured more than one export server (destination), you can define multiple assignment rules and assign different contents to different export servers.

Automatic Instantiation After Content Import In this Customizing activity, you can specify that contents are to be automatically instantiated as soon as they have been imported into the R/3 System.

This option is not normally relevant. Note that the runtimes for content imports are greatly increased.

    1. Start transaction SI24 in your Knowledge Warehouse.

    2. Choose Settings in the Knowledge Warehouse System HTML Export for Generating Static Display Formats Automatic Instantiation After Import.

    3. Select Automatic Instantiation.

    4. Choose Save.

Adding HTML Export Number Areas for File Names In this Customizing activity, you maintain table entries that can be used as two-character prefixes in the file names of compiled HTML files generated by the HTML Export Service. The prefixes identify the Knowledge Warehouse system from which the compiled HTML files originate.

    1. Start transaction SI24 in your Knowledge Warehouse.

    2. Choose Settings in the Knowledge Warehouse System HTML Export for Generating Static Display Formats HTML Export Number Areas for File Names.

    3. Enter a number between 80 and 99 and a description.
