After earning degrees in Physics and Industrial En-gineering, Eyal Tropen spent the next 18 years of hiscareer as a successful project manager, coordinatingthe ins and outs of high-tech ventures at a seniorlevel. While his work was challenging, he longed forthe opportunity to make a more direct impact servingothers in his community. Then, he and his wifebegan the process of acquiring a short-sale home, acomplex transaction that took eight months andended unsuccessfully. Though he was disappointedby the outcome, Eyal had enjoyed learning thestrategies and inner workings of the mortgage indus-try from his own lender, and considered making thecareer switch as a way of helping others on the pathto homeownership.

The next step was convincing his wife. But onemorning over breakfast, she suggested the very samething, encouraging Eyal to explore the industry andparlay his distinguished skillset. That was six yearsago, and since then, Eyal has established a depend-able reputation as an originator who thinks outsidethe box, creates lasting relationships, and delivers onhis professional promises every step of the way.

While primarily serving Western Washington andthe Greater Seattle region, Eyal is also licensed inOregon, California, and Texas. To maintain such abroad sphere of business, Eyal cultivates relation-ships with agents in multiple states. He also helpsinvestors in Washington make new connections in

developing out-of-state investments, and usherstransplants to the Washington area. His loan offer-ings run the gamut, and his company’s Keys onTime program often ensures a 21-day or less turn-around for clients. “As a former Sr. Project Manager,I regard every transaction as a project,” Eyal says.“There’s a start date, a deadline — the close of escrow— along with many milestones to be hit, and stake-holders to communicate with. Many of my clientsare fully underwritten and pre-approved before theygo shopping for a home, which means they cansometimes wave the financing contingency and in-crease the chances of their offer being accepted,even competing with cash or higher offers.” In fact,Eyal’s dependable and timely preapproval processallowed one client to edge out another offer $29,000higher — a personal record for Eyal. Another at-tractive program that Eyal offers helps potentialsellers obtain a pre-approval first, and only list theirdeparting residence after finding their next home.“In Seattle’s competitive market, this program worksto the seller’s advantage,” he says. “Taking thesesteps utilizing the pre-approval process, makes of-fers viable in a competitive market, even if a salecontingency is required.”

At the core of Eyal’s business success is a mind gearedto creative problem-solving. Though this particularskill may stem from his experience in engineering andproject management, Eyal’s commitment to inter-personal relationships is just as important to hisbusiness model. “I cater to my clients’ attention andintention,” Eyal says. “I exercise good judgmentand make honorable choices — not making it aboutme, but making it about the needs and priorities ofmy clients. Of course, there are some things within

my control, and some things beyond my control.But no matter what, I communicate clearly andcompletely. I deliver information, sometimes withbrutal honesty, staying transparent whether the newsis good or bad. If a challenge arises, it’s importantto find a win-win for all parties.”

To strengthen his relationships with his referralpartners, Eyal tries to make his value propositionclear and worthwhile, connecting with people on apersonal level. “One of the most important aspects

of what I do, is my relationships with real estateagents,” he says. “It’s my goal to enhance their busi-ness, and give them a true reason to have a relationshipwith me and work with me.” What’s more, Eyalnever loses sight of the people at the heart of everytransaction. “I’m able to help people who really de-serve it — like single moms, veterans, or peoplewhose lives aren’t cookie-cutter,” he reflects. “Some-times those with unconventional cases find it hardto work with lenders who don’t understand theircircumstances. It’s my job to understand their trueneeds and find solutions that work specifically forthem. That’s what I enjoy most about what I do.”

To give back to his community, Eyal is a member ofthe Kirkland Chamber of Commerce, Bellevue Con-nections, Master Builders Association, and otherlocal and community groups. He also spends timewith the Israeli Scouts and Chabad Synagogues. In

his free hours, Eyal most enjoys spending time withhis wife and two children. His daughter just com-pleted her service as a Sergeant in the Israeli AirForce and is finishing her first year in college. Hisson just graduated high school, and was the presidentof his school’s robotics club. He and his team com-peted in the last VEX Robotics world championship,as well as in the MATE International UnderwaterROV Championship. Eyal also enjoys hiking, scubadiving, a good meal, and a good book.

Looking ahead, Eyal has plans to continue growinghis business, and recently brought on an assistantas he increases his volume. He hopes to continuebuilding a team in the next year or so, while main-taining the high-level service his clientele has cometo expect. Now, with six exceptional years behindhim and an abiding spirit of service, the futureseems bright with promise for Eyal Tropen.
