Nasi Briyani Briyani dishes were introduced to Malay-sia and Singapore by the Indian Muslim as well as the Arab dias-pora. Briyani Bukha-ra is a local adapta-tion of Buhari briyani, originating from Tamil Nadu, India. Anoth-er briyani called Nasi Beriani Gam is an ad-aptation of the Indian

Dum briyani. Another variety is called Gam briyani. Nasi Minyak, a dish commonly served at Malays weddings in Malaysia, Singapore and Sumatra, is also generally referred to as Nasi Beriani. However, this is actually a varia-tion of the Indian ghee

For lovers of Nasi Briyani in Malaysia, do drop by Restaurant Kapitan at Chulia Street as they serve, one of the best claypot Nasi Briyani in Malaysia. There are many variat-ies and most customers chose the Chicken Bri-yani (RM7.00) and the Beef Briyani (RM6.00). The rice flavored with many spices is served in a claypot and comes with a light curry gravy.

Just like most Ma-mak shop, it is open 24 hour and is

located at 93, Chulia Street – a block away from the famed ‘Bomba beef koayteow stall’. It has a separate din-ing area, with upstairs ful-ly air-conditioned. A great place for Nasi Briyani and of course a cup of nutri-tious Badam Milk.
