Followtheprocedure:

1. Eitherwipeexcessoilorwashthediscinsolvent.Drythediscwithforcedairafterwashingthediscwithwater.Alwayswearafaceshieldandprotectiveclothingduringthisoperation.

2. Pressonseverallandsinadownwarddirection.Oilwillbeforcedoutofanycracks.Identifytheareasoffatigue.

Personalinjurycanresultfromworkingwithcleaningsolvent.

Becauseofthevolatilenatureofmanycleaningsolvents,extremecautionmustbeexercisedwhenusingthem.Ifunsureaboutaparticularcleaningfluid,refertothemanufacturer'sinstructionsanddirections.

1. Removeanyroughedgesintheareaoftheslotforthepin.

2. Puttheclutchplateonaflatsurfacesuchasafaceofreactiononthehousingforaclutch,acenterplateforatransmission,orasurfaceplate.Ifthedishedareaisobvious,puttheplateontheflatsurfacesotheconcavesideisup.

3. Measurethegapbetweentheclutchplateandthesurfaceforinspectionatbothoutsidediameter(L)andinsidediameter(M).Measurethegapataminimumofthreepointsaroundtheplatewithequaldistancesbetweenthepoints.

4. Ifoutsidegap(J)attheoutsidediameteratanyofthepointsismorethan0.38mm(0.015inch),theclutchplatecannotbeusedagain.

5. Ifinsidegap(K)attheinsidediameteratanyofthepointsismorethan0.15mm(0.006inch),theclutchplatecannotbeusedagain.

6. Subtractthemeasurementofinsidegap(K)fromthemeasurementofoutsidegap(J)ifthegapsthatweremeasuredinStep4andStep5areacceptable.Ifthedifferenceismorethan0.15mm(0.006inch),theclutchplatecannotbeusedagain.

Example

Themeasurementofoutsidegap(J)is0.28mm(0.011inch)whichislessthanthemaximum.Themeasurementofinsidegap(K)is0.10mm(0.004inch)whichislessthanthemaximum.Thisdifferencebetweenthemeasurementofoutsidegap(J)andinsidegap(K)is0.18mm(0.007inch)whichismorethanthemaximum.Thisclutchplatecannotbeusedagain.
