Aim: The FAC Annual Conference and Exhibition is the highlight of the calendar each year. The popular format of
prestigious location (with overnight accommodation available), key speakers from leading aerospace organisations
presenting on topical subjects, and a member-supported product and service exhibition is back.
The evening before the conference, we are holding a dinner at the same venue.

The Farnborough International Air Show is the place where the entire aviation and aerospace

production equipment.
Our recent investment in new manufacturing equipment highlights our commitment to being one of the leading panel suppliers to the aero and rail sectors. Not only does our new Platen Press have an extended 10’ x 5’ bed size - positioning us as one of the few suppliers able to manufacture such large panels – it is also a double daylight version which gives us huge capacity. In conjunction with our CNC router table this enables us to make pre-cut panels and supply kits of panels.

A new study released by the Aerospace Technology Institute (ATI) shows that investment in R&D within the aerospace industry helped to generate £10 billion of wider economic benefits to the UK in 2017
alone.
The ATI, an independent think-tank leading the UK’s civil aerospace technology agenda, along with Fathom Consulting has released its latest
INSIGHT report – Spill overs: Revealing the Broader Economic Benefits of Aerospace R&D.

A new strategy for the future of UK aerospace
technology “Accelerating Ambition” has been
launched by the Aerospace Technology
Institute (ATI). The strategy was launched at
the ATI conference in Birmingham on the 19th
November 2019.
Accelerating Ambition sets out the challenges,
opportunities and priorities for UK aerospace
research, with a focus on reducing the
environmental impact of aviation and raising
the competitiveness of the UK sector.
It covers priority technologies for the overall
air transport system and the next generations
of vehicles, propulsion and power, systems
and aerostructures. It also looks at the cross-
cutting enablers that will drive the
development of new technology across
aerospace and adjacent sectors.”

Nuclear Powered Aircraft: Fantasy or Reality?

Attempts are continually being made to reduce the use of fuels that result in emissions of carbon dioxide and replace these with other sources of energy that do not, at least directly, result in such emissions. Although much progress in fuel efficiency for all kinds of transport has been made in recent years, there are physical limits to how efficient conventional technology can be.
