• I assisted with the planning and attended the workshop titled, “Managing and Preserving Archival Collections” This one day workshop was sponsored by the ULS and the Conservation Center for Art and Historic Artifacts.
• I participated in the Disney "Keys to Excellence" Institute sponsored by Pitt's Business Center for Executive Education of the Joseph M. Katz Graduate School of Business.

• I served as a member of the “Connecting to Collections: Pennsylvania Statewide Preservation Planning” committee and participated in a meeting in Harrisburg to discuss this statewide initiative. We brainstormed about how to create an implementation plan for a statewide initiative given the current economic climate.

• I serve as a Member of the Alliance for Response task force to set up meetings and discussions between cultural institutions and emergency responders in Pittsburgh. Alliance for Response is a national program on cultural heritage and disaster management. The Pittsburgh forum has offered several meetings to discuss disaster planning, insurance, mold, fire safety and included a table top exercise.

Monasterios, the Chair of the Hispanic Department, are now co-editor of the journal.
• Bolivian Studies is an open access journal published through the ULS.
• Focus and Scope• The BSJ is an international
peer-reviewed journal that addresses growing scholarly interest in the understanding of past and present Bolivian cultural and historical processes. It responds to the need for debate about the meaning of canonical interpretations of culture and history and promotes innovative and interdisciplinary research to meet the challenges that Bolivia is facing in the new millennium.

Hanley Library - 1988The Hanley Library at the University
of Pittsburgh-Bradford. Opened in 1988, the T. Edward and Tullah Hanley Library is named in honor of Tullah Hanley, a Bradford philanthropist, and her late husband. In addition to serving as the library, the building houses the President's and Administrative Offices.

Haskell Library - 1963
The Haskell Memorial Library is located at the University of Pittsburgh at Titusville. Founded in 1963, the library supports the academic and research needs of a two year undergraduate curriculum.
Hillman Library - 1968Exterior view of Hillman Library.
Construction of the library began in 1964. It was dedicated September 6, 1968 and is the largest of the seventeen libraries on the University of Pittsburgh's Oakland campus.

Millstein Library - 1995A color photograph of the front entrance
into the Millstein Library in Greensburg. This 52,000 sq. ft. building was opened in April 1995. In addition to the library, the building also houses the offices of Admissions, Registrar, Business, and Audio Visual Services.

Owen Library - 1971The Owen library was built in 1970
and dedicated on June 13, 1971 in Johnstown. It was named in the late 1980s in honor of sisters Sara Jane Owen Torquato and Elvina Owen who created a generous endowment for library materials. The building was completely renovated in 2004.
