FAIR Girls’ Pearls of Purpose 10th Annual Gala will celebrate the freedom and success of the 1000 girls who have come to our program to become free, aware, inspired, and restored. This evening will both illuminate the realities of modern day slavery and showcase the successes of the young women survivors we serve today. This year’s theme, “10 Years: 1000 Girls Free,” is a celebration and a call to action to ensure we can continue to serve the next 100+ girls in 2017!Each of our 250+ guests from the philanthropic, diplomatic, government, and business communities will have a chance to personally support and celebrate the survivors we serve and to bring awareness to this issue that occurs right here in our backyard.Participants will enjoy a food tasting made possible by D.C.’s finest restaurants; live music from the UN Chamber Music Society; a chance to meet Benjamin Skinner, the author of A Crime So Monstrous; and a dramatic performance by survivor graduates of the Dare to Thrive program, directed by Arena Stage. The funds raised will provide survivors of trafficking with 24/7 critical housing, court advocacy, and therapeutic and economic empowerment services to escape exploitation.  They will also allow us to continue our important education efforts with area young people as well as educators and law enforcement officials.

Simply put, your contribution will literally give a girl a chance for freedom! In 2016, FAIR Girls has served over 100 teen and young women in the nation’s capital and provided support to 50+ young women in Russia and Serbia. Your support ensures we can continue to serve these brave young women as they exit human trafficking and truly become empowered and free.

“Two and half years ago, my life wasn’t where it is now. I was hungry, tired, and alone. I had to sleep on park benches and often didn’t have warm clothes. I had to do things with guys in exchange for food or a bed. The people who I thought I loved me abused me instead. But, let me tell what I know with all my heart; there are people who will love you. There is a family here at FAIR Girls. I am a sophomore in college now majoring in communications. I have people who love me. My entire outlook is different now. I am going forward “ - Ashleigh, 22 in an Open Letter to Her Fellow Survivors at FAIR Girls 9th Annual Pearls of Purpose Gala
