The SMALL SCHOOL AdvantageSTUDENTS AT VASJ KNOW THEY ARE MORE THAN JUST A NUMBER. Our small class sizes and low student-to-teacher ratio allow our students to receive a highly personalized learning experience and build close relationships with classmates and teachers.

Our course offerings and electives prepare students not only for college, but also for real-world experiences. Our broad and rich curriculum can be tailored to meet the individual needs and interests of our students. Students can be challenged in a variety of advanced placement and honors courses and have the opportunity to earn college credit through the College Credit Plus Program.

Our friendly guidance staff is readily available to assist students with course selections and any other academic or personal needs.

VIKING PRIDEVASJ has won 23 state championships,

most recently with Nate Dean ’18 winning the 2018 DIII state title in the boys

400-meter dash. Athletics are a vital part of our history and tradition and bring out

the best in our students.

The VIKING PRIDE AdvantageATHLETICS ARE A VITAL PART OF VASJ’S HISTORY AND TRADITION. Student-athletes excel both academically and on the field. Most teams spend as much time in study tables as they do in practice. A large number of VASJ athletes also earn academic honors. Participating in Viking athletics brings out the best in our students, teaching the importance of sportsmanship and the value of hard work and discipline.

The UNIQUE AdvantageWITH A TOTAL OF 27 CLUBS AND ACTIVITIES (AND GROWING), there are many opportunities for VASJ students to get involved and assert their individuality. Drama Club, Student Council, Student Ambassadors, Catholic Students for Peace and Justice, Peer Ministry, and Red Cross are some of our most popular groups. The more students get involved, the more vibrant our VASJ community becomes. Any student at VASJ can start a club or group. In fact, many of our clubs and activities were created by students.

EXPERIENCE The AdvantageATTEND AN OPEN HOUSE Our Open Houses are hosted by VASJ Student Ambassadors and include a meet-and-greet with our faculty and coaching staff, providing prospective families with a great opportunity to get to know VASJ. During a student-led tour of our campus, families will learn about our academics, campus life, and athletics, all from a student’s perspective.

SHADOW PROGRAM Our Viking for a Day shadow program allows prospective students to attend a full day of classes with a current VASJ Student Ambassador. They will have the opportunity to discuss clubs, sports, and extracurricular activities offered at VASJ.

» Shadow days are scheduled weekly on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays only,

beginning in September and ending in April. If you’re interested in the Viking for a
