To be a national uni-
rsity, we must have ational-caliber scholar-ip program, and thisit.President Emeritusmes F. Barker saidese words soon afters 2000 inauguration. This was theational Scholars Pro-am, and though heid this before the firstational Scholar set
ot on campus, he hadclear vision of whate NSP could mean toe Clemson community. That vision, it is safesay, has been exceeded
ith the investment in 161p high school students
from throughout the
United States paying off with leaders in every areaof campus. National Schol-ars have excelled in the
classroom and in researchlabs, in the Calhoun Hon-ors College, and in studentgovernment, student me-dia, service organizations, fraternities and sororities, intramurals, and more.
NSP alumni have accept-
ed positions at Fortune500 companies and en-rolled at top medical, law, professional, and graduate
schools around the world. As Clemsoncelebrates beingnamed a top 20 publicuniversity, the NSPlikewise celebrates 15
years of being a driverof achieving that goal, shaping the Clemson
academic experience intoone that attracts remark-able students to enroll andengages them with topprofessors and communityleaders.
The Natty Cup GivingCompetition has
