Unlimited Hospitality

Go to www.ucumc.org/gettingstarted for more information about Getting to Know You and our Beginnings class.

Getting to Know You August 24th & October 5th, following each worship service Hospitality SuiteCome and join us for an informal time to meet our Pastors and learn more about UCUMC. Bring any questions that you may have and we’ll do our best to answer them. You will also have an opportunity to sign up for the upcoming Beginnings of Discipleship Class, an introductory and membership class for UCUMC.

Beginnings Class September 5th & 6th (weekend class) Friday 6-9pm & Saturday 9am-1pm, Hospitality SuiteBegins October 12th, 6 weeks Sundays from 5:00-6:30pm, Room 120Our Beginnings class is a great way to begin learning more about UCUMC and what gifts God has given each of us. These sessions are designed for anyone who has been visiting the church and wishes to explore the beliefs, vision and opportunities that are available. Beginnings will provide you an overview of our mission as a church and help you determine your next step here at UCUMC. You will learn about Spiritual Gifts, discover your own, and learn how these can be used to serve others here at UCUMC, throughout Charlotte, and the world. Visit www.ucumc.org/beginnings for more information and links to registration.

Hospitality & Evangelism can be such overwhelming words. But these are two of the simplest things that God asks us to do. Sometimes Christians are viewed as hypocritical and judgmental, but we have to let God’s love shine through us when we talk with others, especially the un-churched. We have to let them realize that we are sinners saved by grace and that we extend and apply that to them as well. John 13:35 (ESV) says “by this all people will know that you are (Jesus’) disciples, if you have love for one another”. Just show others the love that He shows you; then it’s not so overwhelming.

Online Tools - www.ucumc.orgAt UCUMC we are passionate about helping you to grow in your faith journey. Below is a list of online tools we have available to you to either help you understand your faith journey, help you find a place to connect, or help you to continue growing. Find the direct links to each tool below or visit our website to find these tools and more.

Online Tools

UCUMC Discipleship Assessment The Discipleship Assessment will give you some insight into your faith journey as well as give you a baseline to help you determine some areas you might like to continue to grow in. It will also help us as a church to have a better understanding of small groups and classes we can offer to help people grow in these areas. You take the assessment anonymously. After you have completed the assessment please make a copy of your assessment with your answers and return it (without your name) to Bert Giles – Director of Discipleship, [email protected]. Visit www.ucumc.org/discipleship or contact Bert Giles to get a copy of the Discipleship Assessment.

Find Your Spiritual Gifts! We have a Spiritual Gifts test for Adults (18+) and Youth (6th-12th grade) to help you find you joy in serving. Discover more about how God has made you. This process is theological…it begins with God and works through you. It has to do with both self–confidence and self–awareness. It has to do with who we are both inside and out. God has given each believer a spiritual gift that He wants us to use for His glory, but we often don’t use it. We may deny that we actually have a spiritual gift or we may doubt its usefulness to glorify God. But we must realize that God not only wants us to know our spiritual gifts, but He expects us to grow in them each day. Visit www.ucumc.org/spiritualgifts to take the Spiritual Gifts Test.

RightNow MediaRightNow Media is a wonderful new online, digital discipleship tool that includes video content for every age group and every life situation. A free gift to you from UCUMC and all you need to do is accept the invitation! If you do not have a login, contact Ceil McGee: [email protected] or 704-369-8006.
