our students. The batch of 2015 has proved to be an inspiring example of the potential that all Namilites harbor. Today we explore three stories of students whose four year journey has come to an end but their suc-cess is just beginning.

MS. TAHA AFZALFirst Female to Get First Class Honors in Namal CollegeFrom Lahore

Being the first female student to complete a degree with

First Class Honors at Namal College, certainly has its merits. But the real merit lies in Namal’s ability to recognize hidden talents in students and give them a chance to broaden their strengths. I attribute my success to my unrelenting confidence. The source of this confidence has always been Namal’s faculty who have inspired me to pursue teaching as a career and because of this, I have already started working as a lab instructor at Forman Christian (FC) College. This is only my first step in my dream of becoming a teaching professional.

MR. ISRAR MAHMOODDoing Masters in Computer Science from Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS)From Lahore

My aim is to pursue PhD in the area of cloud network-

ing which is fast becoming a global technology movement. Companies in Pakistan are also increasingly relying on cloud networks to reduce cost and complexity in computing and storage. I did my electrical engineering from Namal College which helped me understand various hardware technologies. Today I am doing my Masters in Computer Science from LUMS to help me understand the software side. Namal College has given me many opportunities to excel.

I got admission at Namal in the year 2011 for a BSc in Computer Science. Since then, I have experi-enced two major turning points in my life which has transformed me into what I am today. Firstly in the year 2014 I was selected to be a part of Oxford University Summer Exchange Program which gave me immense knowledge about work-ing in a global environment. FUNDRAISING DINNER

Namal College kicked off its

new academic year by welcoming new batches of students in Computer Science and Electrical & Electronic

Engineering. The orienta-tion week was an exciting experience for the budding professionals as they became

familiarized with the culture and values of Namal College that

provides a mix of academic, profes-

sional, and personal grooming through academic and co-curricular activities. The Orientation Session started off with the welcome address by the Director of Namal College, Prof. Dr. Ashraf Iqbal who exhorted the students to live up to Namal values of merit, integrity, tolerance, excel-

lence, commitment and social responsib-lity. It was also a unique moment for Namal that the Chief Guest of the day was one of the oldest staff members who works as gardener. Baba Rehman shared his experi-ence at Namal and lauded the Namal fam-ily for so much care and respect that he

would not have experienced elsewhere. He advised the students to study with honesty and purpose. Ms. Sana Obaid and Mr. Allah Jiwaya also conducted workshop on developing ceramic tiles to nurture a sense of creativity among the students. Namalites reveled in sufi music to mark

a memorable ending to the orientation week. Ms. Ayesha Nadir Ali, from Lahore School of Economics, mesmerized the audience with her melodious voice sing-ing the poetry of great sufi saints such as Baba Buleh Shah, Baba Waris Shah, and Madhu Laal Hussain.
