is a tobacco leaf and the story behind it is really the story of Graves County and its history with the plant. Joyce McClain and Nancy Smith both worked on the embroidered square. I hope you didn’t miss the quilt while it was here.

Graves County Homemakers are also preparing to showcase their crafts and arts at the annual Purchase Area Extension Homemakers Cultural Arts Day on March 6 at the McCracken County Extension Office. It is an opportunity to place items into a judged show. Ribbons are awarded and the top entries are eligible to enter their items at the state cultural arts contest during the KEHA State Meeting.

If you think you would like to be a part of this group whose goal is to “Learn, Lead, and Serve,” you can call the Graves County Extension Office for more details on when clubs meet. You are also welcome to visit any one of the club meetings to check out if Extension Homemakers is for you! Enjoy your February and its days of groundhog shadows or not, Valentine hearts and love, celebration of presidents, and an extra leap year day.
