The Adventure of a Lifetime
Disciple—it’s an old word, a traditional, churchy word. Does it still matter? Is everyone who believes in Jesus a disciple? Here at Christ Lutheran we believe it does and, simply said, anyone who believes and follows Jesus is a disciple. The graphic below describes what it looks like to be a disciple of Jesus at various stages of the life-
long adventure. Check it out! Where do you see yourself?
We have classes and groups for every stage of the discipleship adventure here at Christ Lutheran Church. Contact Myra or Cris for more information.

Prepared to Serve with Excellence! Seventeen individuals
from our Nursery and
Youth teams, Ushers and
even some leaders from
our Boy Scout Troup
participated in a CPR
training and certification
program along with a
safety and security
review. Led by a local training professional the participants earned a 2
year CPR certification and a “how to” lesson on the use of an AED
(automated external defibrillator) More importantly, they gained the
knowledge and skills to provide emergency care and support should it
ever be needed. A special thanks to our in-house professionals, Tom
Hayselden and Bill Hibbard who shared valuable insights about our
safety and security from their professional experiences.
Thank you to our Worship Server Team Coordinator who put this training
together and to all who serve others with joy and excellence at Christ
Lutheran Church.
It’s the people in our homes that we most want to lead to Christ, yet in the day to day hustle that may seem like the hardest place to be a Christ-like Servant Leader.
This workshop will help you explore the what and how of Christ-like Servant Leadership in Your Home. Whether your household is only you, you and your spouse, you and your child(ren), grandkids or some combination of the above, there will be something for you.
Don’t miss the upcoming opportunity to gain some practical ideas for being a Christ-like servant leader in your home.

CONNECTING MINISTRIES
The requests for help with Christmas are starting to come in
to our Mission Partners…
Let’s do our part by helping to make someone else’s Christmas a little brighter. Below is a list of our mission partners that will be having Christmas stores. Please remember to add some extra items for them to your own lists:
Bread of Life City Union Mission LUMA MLM
These partners are also looking for people to help with all aspects of the Christmas store. Shopping lists and volunteer sign-ups will be provided later in October or early November. Keep checking the Missions page of our web site for updates.
The need is becoming desperate…
Our Christian brothers and sisters as well as Muslims are being forced to flee their homes or risk persecution by ISIS and other sectarian governments all over the Middle East. Lutheran Hour Ministries (LHM) is helping provide food and other materials to the refugees flooding into Lebanon and other countries in the area. Please consider helping LHM with a gift so they can continue to provide the love of Jesus to those who are so desperate. Click this link to donate now.

change a child forever
Shelter, security, food, medical care, education, clean water...love...these are all things we have at our fingertips, but for the kids at Shadow of His Wings in Guatemala, sometimes they’re not even within arms reach. Please consider sponsoring a child, multiple children or an entire home. Or if you would prefer, provide the funds for someone who wouldn’t otherwise be able to participate in the trip to Shadow of His Wings in February 2016. Contact Cris Molina for information on providing a scholarship.
It’s not too late… We’re still in the planning phase for our trip to Shadow of His Wings in February 2016. If you are interested and would like more info, please contact Cris Molina.

Frequently Asked Questions
What does a typical night at re|engage “look like”? The format for Wednesday night is as follows:
6-6:20pm – Large Group Time (worship & testimony/teaching) 6:30-7:30pm – Three groups meet
Newcomers Group: 1st time participants will be provided
more details about the program.
Open Group: This group focuses on learning to share about struggles & how they affect our lives. People may come & go in the groups, moving to a closed group as they are ready & as a facilitating couple becomes available.
Closed Group: When a couple has prayerfully deter-mined they are ready to begin focusing on Christ in their marriage and there are enough individuals to form a group, they become part of a Closed Group, which is focused on walking through the curriculum together. Once the group is assigned, new couples will not be added in order to estab-lish an environment of trust.
Will I be asked a lot of personal questions at re|engage? There is no personal sharing required during the large group meeting. Though we encourage you to remain active in group discussion, any personal sharing during the small group meetings is voluntary. Is re|engage marriage counseling? re|engage is not marriage counseling and the leaders are facilitators, not counselors. They are also growing in their own marriages. Everyone in the group is on the journey to oneness in marriage. We believe that openness and honesty in a small group setting and using Biblically-based curriculum is where God works to grow and resurrect marriages. Can I just come and visit, or do I have to commit to something? Until you join a Closed Group, there is no commitment necessary. Your first night you will join us at 6:00pm for a Large Group time of praise and worship and a teaching or testimony, and then you will go to the Newcomers Group. How much time each week outside of the meeting is required to be part of re|engage? Completion of the curriculum will take approximately one hour each week, but the program is designed to connect you as a couple and will promote ongoing daily change.

Wednesday nights are ROOTS ON A MISSION!
We invite all families to come and join us on Wednesday nights to participate in some fun games and service projects. In September we made blan-kets for Kids TLC in Olathe, put together care pack-ages and cards for soldiers, made cards for those on our list for care ministry, and visited the residents at
the Gables. Sundays are our time in the Word, growing together in Christ. Wednesdays are putting
our faith to action, that others may know Christ.
Kid-2-Kid Offerings:
ALL offerings will be directly going to our Community 4 Kids Packing Nights, on Octo-ber 7 and April 6. Community 4 Kids is an organization that serves packs of food for the weekend for those families who need as-sistance in the Blue Valley School District. Join us in making a difference for children and their families in our community!

day school started September 12. Join us to learn more about the Old Testament.

walked through drive-throughs ... Special
thanks to Sara Vandemark for leading this!

This month, not only will
we enjoy the colors found in
nature but we will do some
creating with colors of our
own as we bring out the

Look for some of our mas-
