Christmas wouldn’t be Christmas without ALL the trimmings. Potatoes, sprouts, carrots, parsnips are all grown here on the farm. We think it tastes better that way and you can taste the freshness in all our food.

Our talented butchers are always on hand to help you plan for the big feast! The award-winning Jon Thorner’s Christmas range boasts bronze turkeys which are ethically farmed and free to roam and traditional white turkeys. For something really indulgent, try the delicious, easy-to-carve three bird roasts, free range goose or Gressingham duck. We also offer a full range of West Country beef, lamb, free-range pork and seasonal game.

At Farrington’s we grow 2 varieties, Doric and Nautic. Here in Britain we eat more sprouts than anyone else in Europe and here’s some more facts that you might not know about them:

• Sprouts contain high levels of vitamins A and C, folic acid and dietary fibre and it’s thought they can even help protect against stomach cancer.

• An 80g serving of sprouts contains 4 times more vitamin C than an orange and a cup of cooked brussels sprouts contains only about 60 calories. But don’t tell the kids they’re good for you!

• The heaviest ever sprout was grown in 1992 and weighed 8.3kg!

TOP TIP – don’t put a cross on the bottom of your sprouts as they can go soggy and don’t boil them for too long!
