When we come to faith in
Jesus one of the ways God
helps us to grow is by placing
us in local church families. Likeany family there can be ups
and downs, times when people
get along and occasions when
feelings get hurt. But through it
all God uses other saints-in-the-
making to help us become
more Christ-like. Rather than
avoid the process of
discipleship, we should activelychoose to engage with God.
A couple of important ways
that we cooperate with Gods
formation in our lives is by
connecting with His people and
by serving others. Lets look ateach: Do you know a few
people here at FCC to the point
that you could ask them deep
questions about life? Likewise, is
anyone close enough with youthat they could challenge you in
choices you make? We each
decide to what degree we will
allow others into our lives. To
avoid people, however, is to
shortcut one of Gods tools.
Second, are you a servant?
Have you found a place(s)
where you can contribute
meaningful service to others as
an expression of the Kingdomof God? We grow in Christian
maturity when we choose to
step up and get involved. The
less mature simply sit back and
take, treating church life like afree department store.
Serving
others forces us to set aside our
human selfishness and learn to
act a bit more like Jesus. I hope
we all choose to engage.

Free Clothes Pantry
As we have beenmentioning recently, the
clothes pantry has really takenoff. We have so many
donations and people usingthe service that we have
expanded into a second room.
Now the womens clothes fillan entire room, while themens and
childrens clothes
are in the other. Remember,you can help by visiting with
guests on Wednesdays5:30PM or by helping sort
and hang clothes during theweek. (See Pastor Mark)
BTW, for those families who
attend Sunday morning, wecontinue to offer a Free FoodPantry
that is not open to the
public. It has been relocated towhat was the Prayer Room by
the
Welcome kiosk.Finally, because of the pantry
expansion, the older childrens
Sunday school class now meetsin the library after Half Time.
