1. 気づき

- 気づきがなければ始まらない。では，どのように気づきを促すか？

例）インプット強化（input enhancement）

インプット洪水（input flood）（特定の言語形式を太字や下線によって目立たせたり，頻繁にインプットの

中で使うことによって，学習者の注意をそれらに向けさせるテクニック）

(After reading until late at night, Ayumi fell asleep and had a very strange dream.)

Bill: Hello, Ayumi. Where are you headed?

Ayumi: I’m on the way to the chemistry lab at school.

Bill: On a Sunday? If I were you, I’d enjoy the weekend. However, some

exercise would do me good, so if you don’t mind, I’ll walk with you a little.

Ayumi: Not at all. I appreciate your company.

Bill: By the way, I ran into Alice last night, and she said you went to a tea party

with her and some of her friends yesterday. How was it?

Ayumi: Well, to be honest, it was a little weird. The host at the party

offered me two plates of cookies. He said if I ate a cookie from the first

plate, I would grow taller. If I ate a cookie from the second plate,

I would become shorter. What would you have done?

Bill: That is weird. However, I think we ought to be polite when we are guests.

I would have chosen a cookie from the first plate. If I were taller,

maybe I’d be a better basketball player. Anyway, what did you do?

例）穴埋めタスク（fill-in-the-blank task）（自分が興味・関心のあるテーマについて書かれた英文から，冠詞等々を

すべて削除して空欄にしたものを用意する。記憶がある程度薄れた頃に

それらをすべて元に戻してみるといった活動）

- 気づいたものがより深く理解され，学習者の内部（中間言語）に取り込まれるためには？

Most of Japan has mild weather, because it is near

the ocean. / It is not usually very hot or very cold. /

But of course this is not always true. / During the rainy

season, it can be uncomfortably warm and humid, /

and in the summer the weather is often too hot. / In

the winter, Hokkaido and the northern part of Honshu

are very cold. / Winters in western Honshu are usually

nice, with dry, mild, sunny weather. / In the spring and

fall, temperatures across Japan are moderate, / and

there are beautiful things to see in nature: / in the

spring, the cherry blossoms bloom; / in the fall, the

leaves change colors.
