Cleaning Up a Future IEP That Contains Outdated

Information

Deleting Old Meeting Notices

Old meeting notices should be deleted at each Annual IEP.

* At amendment meetings, do not delete notices that apply to the annual IEP you are amending.

Updating Present Levels

Present levels should be cleared EVERY time you are writing a new IEP.

* Before clearing the present levels page, be sure that another service provider has not already cleared it and entered their new present levels.

Updating Goals

1. Copy ALL goals from LAST YEAR’S IEP onto the present levels page so you can report on the student’s progress on these goals.

2. Delete any goals from the previous IEP that are not being revised and continued on this IEP.

3. If you are revising and continuing a goal, click the pencil icon to edit the goal. To add a new goal, click “Create New Goal”.

Supplementary Aides/Services

Delete any Supplementary Aides/Services that the team is not wanting to continue on this IEP and click “Add Supplementary Aids/Services” to add any that the team feels the student needs.

Special Education and Related Services

1. Delete services that were discontinued at the previous IEP.

2. Review current services and determine which will be continued and which will be discontinued.

* The Amend Service option is only used on Amendment meetings and not on Annual or Triennial meetings.

3. Any services that you discontinued should NOT be deleted until the NEXT Annual IEP. Click “Do Not Print” so that these discontinued services do not print on the IEP.

*Do not click the “Do not Report” button. This will be done down at the district office.

Deleting Old Team Meeting Comments

Old comments pages should be deleted at each Annual IEP.

* At amendment meetings, do not delete comments pages that apply to the annual IEP you are amending.

Once you have filled out the boxes, click “yes” the goal is “Ready for PR” and click “Update Progress on Goals”.

Once all the goals have “Yes” indicating that they are ready for PR, click “Affirm/Attest PR”.
