Parish Announcements
PLAN YOUR LENTEN SPIRITUAL READING NOW! St. Anthony’s library has an assortment of wonderful
books and movies. There are many topics to choose from: Lives or Writings of the Saints, Apologetics, Church History, Prayer/Spirituality, Mariology, Christology, Mass/Sacraments and Philosophy. The library is upstairs in room 4 of the parish center. It is free!
LENTEN BABY BOTTLE COLLECTION During this penitential season the Church calls us to
pray, fast and give alms. In this spirit, on Feb 23, please join the RE students in our sponsorship of a local charity, Mary’s Shelter. Mary’s Shelter provides housing and a Christ-centered program of guidance and support for women facing a crisis during pregnancy.
All you need to do is take a baby bottle from the basket in the vestibule of the church to deposit your spare change during Lent. This a wonderful way to foster the spirit of sacrifice and sharing, especially with your kids. There will be a basket set up in the vestibule of both churches to return the bottles before Palm Sunday. If you have any questions please see Terri Tolley. Thank you and God Bless!

Parish Cottages for Rent IN COLONIAL BEACH
In Colonial Beach we have acquired land contiguous with our property. Four of the parcels have houses on them, and three are rentable.
We have a 10 year mortgages on these properties. If we play our cards right, the rent over time will pay off the mortgages and we will have significantly increased our footprint without using parish funds. But that will take patience and time.
We were not looking to purchase properties, but these opportunities made eminent sense for our long term strategy and survival.
After the mortgages are paid off, if we continue to rent them, then there will be a great increase for the parish income. This will help assure our historic Catholic presence in Colonial Beach.

5 Lossing Avenue Our newest cottage is a one bedroom, one bath directly across from the front door of the church. This one is being completely renovated and will be ready within weeks.
We have three lovely cottages available for rent, all just one block from the River and right by St. Elizabeth’s Church (so you can attend daily Mass very easily).
